Starguy Vs. the Horde (Prototype)

A Galaga / Space Invaders style space shooter created for a 2D development course at GameDev.tv

This is my first real workable game. It's short, but I'm pretty proud of the effects I managed to create and the three bosses (see if you can get them, I've never beaten the last one!). I've tweaked it here and there, and will likely revisit it with new knowledge once I've completed the intermediate courses.

-Space bar to shoot
-Left Alt key fires missiles
-Left Alt again will manually detonate missile
-Grab power-ups: Blue 'shields', Yellow 'rapid fire', Red 'missiles'
-Hit Q to Quit
-Pew Pew-- it's good for you!

This was my first development effort, and was a huge playground for me. The code is surely a mess, but it was tons of fun and I don't think I'm quite done with it yet.

*All assets are home-brewed, from Kenneys Assets, or from NoSoapRadio.
