Sublevel Zero reviews

A week after release: Great gameplay, sweet graphics, atmospheric soundschemes, killer soundtrack. One of the best Indie titles in a while. Not only for Descent-fans. The game feels good right from the start and the developers seem to take feedback seriously. Only things are: You can't turn mouse smoothing/accelleration completely off. No big deal, but personally I'd like to tweak around a little more when it comes to controls. No multiplayer yet. I don't know why. This would be fun in Co-Op and multiplayer. I'm sure this will come sooner or later.

What does Sublevel Zero offer you? -Generary Level/Infinite Level-Crafting Possibilities-Exciting Battles-Good Space Ship Feeling-Good Balanced Weapons-Relatively Good AI-Hard Oversaries-Light Entry but Hard to Masters-Loot of Opponents and Chests-Different Unlockable Ships-Perma Death What doesn't it offer? -Varied Textures-Deep History (Which is quite beside the point.)-Those who do not learn from their own Mistakes will be frustworthy here. (Perma Death ala Dark Souls merely completely erased.) Is it worth it? I would say yes, a successful Shooter mix for in between. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MqvJvgd6GE

The Game is great, immediately Descent Feeling Comes up. In Terms of Optics I might have wanted a Texture pack or something, partly the Look fits super well but in some cases I also find it a bit more annoying when it gets very pixelated. IF I already deliver a pixelated Crosshairs by default, I will give the Player at least two or three to choose from, that would have been the least of the problems. Maybe Still come or vllt modded there still who gets along. But this is real Metering at a high Level, Gameplay, Crafting etc is really awesome, and you can get used to the Optics or ignore them after 10 Minutes anyway away.

Since I really enjoyed playing Descent in The mid-90s, I just had to have this Game. And all in all, that was a very good Purchase! The Combination of the Game principle with the Rogue-like game Mechanics works well and has a subtly "motivating" effect from a subtle Way. The Opponents are quite varied from the third Level at the latest and sometimes really demanding. You shouldn't expect a Story, of course. The Game itself is the Story, and that works brilliantly. Minor Criticisms would be the sometimes somewhat very convulsively on retro trimmed graphics and a felt lack of different Spaces. However, at least the latter is supposed to be made even better by the Update aud "Sublevel Zero Redux" announced for July. All in all, I would recommend the Game to anyone who prioritizes fun over Graphics and can make friends with the permadeath principle.
