About

Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack is a side-scrolling platformer developed by DrinkBox Studios. The game serves as a prequel to another game by the studio, Tales From Space: About a Blob.

Plot

The game tells the story of the blob who is named Blob. Blob escapes from his own homeworld and ends up on Earth, where he begins consuming everything he finds while exploring the planet.

Gameplay

The players control Blob. At the beginning of the level, Blob is tiny, but when he eats something, he gets a bit bigger. This allows the players to grom Blob to enormous sizes by eating the loosely-placed items in the in-game world. The main objective of the player is to pass a specific obstacle located at every level of the game to complete it.

The players can use Blob's multiple mutant abilities. For example, he can transform into a rocket for a limited amount of time, stick to walls or even use telekinesis to manipulate the in-game items.

The game heavily relies on its advanced physics simulation system. The levels are highly interactive, so the question of how to approach a specific level is completely up to the player.

Style

The 1950s heavily inspire the game's art style. Architecture, music, and even this era-specific humor can be found in the game. The game features a distinct animation style which can also be found in the old Batman or Spider-man TV shows.

Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack reviews and comments

waow, really great this game. Very singular graphics that I adore, a wacky scenario but mine of nothing interesting enough and mechanics of games really wanted. I think it feels like the developers have enjoyed making this game. After that I could find some negative points, like maneuverability at a few moments that I find a bit laborious but there are all sorts of tricks that largely catch up with the negative points. A life a little too short but good at least we do not get bored.

Very good little platformer! Fun and crazy atmosphere, even at the level of the soundtrack. Pleasant graphics (and there is no need for more) with small references to other indie games that made me laugh. The only negative is the playing time, a little short (I finished a milking, 3 hours) but at the same time I told myself that if it had lasted longer, I might have bored in the end a very good little game, on which I had a very pleasant time! (and what more is asked of a game?) PS: I did the game with with a gamepad of Xbox360, I think in some passage it helps a lot, and it is very well managed

With enough humor, the Drinkbox Studios manage to approach the principle of the omnivorous BLOB, growing at the discretion of its empiffrades. The game itself is very nice and offers a good grip (keyboard + mouse or joystick). The game is done on several tables ranging from the lab where the BLOB appeared, up to Hahahahaha (I will not spoilerai). Some passages will ask for a tad of thought (but nothing very nasty). From a purely personal point of view, I recommend because I still have a good laugh. After that, for those who are not too connected to this humor and this type of games, I would say to take advantage to buy this game Soldé.

With "Mutant Blobs Attack," Manufacturer Drinkbox affects itself! As a Sequel to the indie cult game "Tales from space: About a blob," you break out of the Unilabor in this new chapter of an epic-funnel cult story and embark on a long one With a ripnly annoyed and indifferent Gaze (you can interpret it as you like) Travel to swallow the Galaxy. In tried-and-tested Platforming fashion, one blots over lovingly crafted Maps that shine with small, witty Anecdotes. One grows, is transformed Into a Receiving gas Cloud, dodges Lasers, is shot to the Moon and destroys Military Helicopters. What more does a Blob want!? A Recommendation for all Fans of sarcastic Humor; People who plan to seize World Domination with the help of a Flying liver in the Foreseeable future and those who can identify themselves with an indefinable green Lump. Viva la World Domination!
Good platformer, not the best one but enjoyable for some time.
