Templar Battleforce reviews

In short: Highly reccomended if you like turn based tactics. --- Templar Battleforce (TB), one of the best turn based tactics games I've played in a very long time. Fallout Tactics (2001) and Jagged Alliance 2 (1999) come to my mind. A more recent contender may be Bionic Dues (2013, check it out if you like TB). The gameplay: You lead your squad of mechwarriors into battle against different kinds of aliens and human traitors. Different missions will allow a different number of templars you can deploy, ranging from 3-6. Somtimes you will find "tact points" which can be captured by your engineer to deploy more templars and a wide range of ordnance. You can outfit your mechs with many different weapons, armor and supplemental modules, improve stats and learn many different talents (attacks, buffs, debuffs, healing, area scans, sentry turrets etc.). The types depend on the templars class and your progression in the tech tree. The tech tree is pretty huge, alowing great customization of the 8 classes. Mission goals are diverse, so you want to use the right mechs for the job. For example, if you have to search an area for something then you better bring a scout. If you have to defend a position then soldier, neptune (heavy weapons) and hydra (flames!) are a better choice. In battle, you take turns against the enemy using action and movement points. Comparing attack accuracy, penetration and damage against defence, deflection, armor and resist. The missions are great: Full of "oh♥♥♥♥♥♥quot;-moments, heroic last stands, tragic losses and triumphant victories. Hold positions against a brutal alien onslaught, purge a town from infestation and secure it, storm a bunker and try to stop the menace to humanity... there are many missions and branching story paths. After 33 hours I haven't even finished the game. Shifting mission goals keep things interesting and tense. The story is rather deep for a game of this kind and provides a nice background for the action. The game plays in the Trese Brothers' Star Traders universe. The music is suprisingly good for a low budget title and the sound effects fit well. The visuals are clean and the UI is comortable to use. The game has 7 difficulties and a permadeath option. Can’t say anything bad about it, only the visuals may put off some people but you can see for yourself in the screenshots. Highly recommendend!

Templar Battleforce is a turn-based Game. One leads a Group of Combat Specimens in the Fight against Aliens. The Mission Cards are only revealed in the Course of the Missions. A lot of it is delightfully Old School, with the Levels you pick Tallente, Skills and Equipment for your Fighters and can develop them really differently. You'll see in the Char overview how Changes will affect the Char, and these Distributions can be completely changed between missions. In Total, there are 7 Classes from which you can choose your Recruits. The Research Tree, on the other hand, cannot be reset and is also completely explorable in a Game, here you should think carefully about what you use your Resources for. In the first of the 6 Levels of difficulty, fallen Fighters are available again after a Mission, but death is final in the higher Difficulty levels. Technically, the Game is flawless and the Classes are good, so you can see that the Developers are playing the Game themselves. They are present in the Forum and respond to Questions and Problems. One of the Strengths of the Game is that there is almost no Weakness. Amazing what small indie development teams achieve in terms of Combat Mechanics compared to Giant projects like XCOM 2. Graphically, of course, it's not as elaborate, but it also has a significantly lower Hunger For hardware. Free Storage in combat is not possible, the Missions are designed accordingly. There are Storage Spaces for different Game Passes. The Weakness of the Game beginning the Missions are great, but then let up a bit and in some of the later Missions you can only move your Combat Squad at a Snail's pace. Aliens can spawn and attack directly in some Places of the Map, even standing by. Therefore, on all Sides must secure themselves and make sure that the Combat Suits of the Templars do not overheat. You quickly get the Strategy out and then repeat it Round by round until you reach your Goals. Unfortunately, that's tough. Verdict: Strategy Game for Veterans and Friends of "old" turn-based Games, you get almost nostalgic Feelings. It was fun for the first 25 Missions, but then it became partly tough. If there were a thumb half-ticked Up, I would pick it here. The paid £6.99s are fine. A good tactical RPG that reminds me of Incubation: Time is Running Out in many things (though authors didn't know about Incubation, surprisingly).
