Woken from a hypersleep, you find yourself alone on a drifting star cruiser, light years from home. The crew has disappeared, leaving behind nothing but a few scattered records and a strange artifact that seems to hold the key to an alien civilisation. As you search the empty ship, you’ll begin to piece together the mystery of the missing crew, and perhaps a way to unlock the artifact itself.

Played out in stunning 3D environments, The Artifact is a sci-fi themed spin on the classic escape the room game. Players explore different locations, using 22nd century technology to crack codes and solving increasingly head scratching puzzles that will help decipher the mystery of the alien device, and perhaps what lies beyond...

The Artifact reviews and comments

The artifact is a very short Sci-Fi puzzle game. Of an astonishing quality for a game created on unity, it takes up the classic codes of science fiction with the discovery of a probably alien artifact, a new distant planet and then a sort of abstract parallel dimension. Indeed, we propose here to solve very simple puzzles, basic of the puzzle game with the wavelines to align, the few elements with encrypted code, the symbols to be matched... But we also have the ability to solve some puzzles with the help of a specific vision, here a UV vision and a DNA vision. Unfortunately, these two very friendly mechanics are almost absent from the gameplay, one will only serve to find a code and solution to another puzzle, and the other only to recover some traces of DNA. It is a pity that the only original mechanics of the lot is so little exploited. The story is meant to be very attractive and abstract, if you are a fan of classic science fiction, and the story implied, you will be a fan without hesitation. Finally, a game of an unexpected quality that was able to seduce me despite my apprehensions, but that wants to be very short (less than an hour) and therefore at a very high price for the duration of the gameplay. To buy in promo or in a bundle. Have a good day!

The artifact is a quiet puzzle game is relaxing, that's the least we can say. It is mostly very short and even if it proves interesting, again one has the impression to test a demo or the intro of a game... In Promo at-90% it goes very well but full pot for more than €7 it's expensive the little hour of play! Graphically and musically it is very beautiful, the experience is very interesting too, but the puzzles are basic and very simple to solve, it is on one does not get bored and we do not confuse the neurons but we quickly went through the whole. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1707977736 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1707977847 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1707978262 you wake up in a box of hyper sleep, in a spaceship crossing space, two of your teammates still sleep... you inspect the places (movements and interactions with the mouse only using the left click) and already a first headache awaits you... I would say no more, already that it is very short, I will not more you spoiler the little history that there to discover. It is good, it is nice and immersive but as for all things well: we want more! And there I am disappointed, in addition the end is too light and leaves us in the wave. I wanted a full game and not a demo that ends so quickly!! I'm tired of these pseudo games that in the end are just snippets, short excerpts.
