The Darkside Detective
About
Where cultists crawl, where demons dwell, where the occult… occults? *ahem* That's where you’ll find Detective Francis McQueen, the lead investigator of the criminally underfunded Darkside Division. When evil darkens the doorsteps of Twin Lakes City – hell, even when it just loiters around shop fronts or hangs out in shady alleyways – he’s there, ready to investigate the cases that nobody else will.
He is The Darkside Detective.
The Darkside Detective is a micro-adventure game with a distinct sense of humour. It’s being developed for PC & Mac, and consists of a series of humorous bite-size investigations into the occult and extraordinary. It features:
- 6 cases, each more spooky than the last
- Music from Ben Prunty, the audiomancer behind gems such as FTL and Gravity Ghost
- At least three jokes
- Cutting edge, high definition pixels
- One free curse-removal, up to and including mid-level witch hexes

A cute little Retro-style pixel Point-and-click with simple Mechanics and Puzzles and a Detective dealing with Ghosts. There are some separate Cases and thus intermediate fan for the inclined fan. Nothing more and nothing less.
For me rather less true, because the Personality and the entire common Thread goes away from me. Are just "Cases." There was Murdered: Soul Suspect definitely better overall.

I really liked the Game, although I really only like point & click games to a limited extent. But this one has a very special Charm, tricky Puzzles (not too easy and also not hard to Despair) and imaginative Dialogue with a neat dose of black Humour. If nothing else, the Setting with the Ghost Hunter And his Lackey has promised me a lot. For anyone who has a Heart for the Supernatural, a bit of Creepy, and Pixel Games, an absolute Must! I am very much looking Forward to the Sequel! :)

The Darkside Detective is a great Point and Click adventure made quite clearly by People who love Point and Click Adventures. The story reminiscent of Twin Pines and Act X, and this parodying Story, is funny, but at the same time exciting. More Specifically, these are 9 different Episodes that vary in length from 10 Minutes to an Hour (at least for me). The Episodes are each self-contained Stories that revolve around the two Main Characters and their Work as Investigators in the footsteps of the supernatural.

So, for starters, I have to admit that this is the first point & click I've played.
I discovered this game thanks to the humble bundle, and I must confess that was surprised!
This game is really not bad (apart from the graphics, but at this level there is an "artistic choice").
The ambiance, the scenery, the soundtrack, but above all.... He well the year 90 side way X-files, and jokes with questionable humor. So yes on the other hand, for this game, you have to have an English level level BAC to at least solve the puzzles (except if you click on everything without understanding), but appreciate the subtle jokes, you have to have a very solid level of English and good references.
The game remains quite easy, apart from two small details: there are 2 levels (out of the 9 available) that are still anything but obvious, and where you will have to run everywhere to succeed in advancing (while there is no clue to guide us) , and a success that is... He Bah everything but obvious once again to unlock it!
After for the price (€11.5)... As I said, hard to judge for my part. The full game is done fast enough (4-5 hours), if we add the successes it will depend on your patience and look for solutions on the Internet or not. But even if the lifespan is not there, the quality is there!
So a big Yes for my part.
