The Minims reviews and comments

Translated by
Microsoft from French
Product received for free the small team beyondthosehills composed of three Greek enthusiasts presents her first baby: the Minims. A point & click of another vein since it wants to be relaxing. Amazing? Not so much from three people who have bathed in classical music before embarking on a challenge to create a video game! Mii is a minim, a species almost extinct since Mii and his wife Mo are the last known representatives. Together they live on a large rock overlooking an arid and dangerous desert. It's a normal day for Mii but the sudden disappearance of his beloved and tender will disturb his little peaceful life. After a short introductory phase that introduces us to the universe and the famous minims, creatures without limbs that jump to move, we find ourselves in the first environment of the game. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=675773043 imbued with a certain charm and failing to be very detailed, a colorful world unfolds before our eyes but remains nevertheless quite closed. With three small interiors and an exterior, we quickly went around it. So, of course the game is in 3D and it is possible to turn the camera to 360 ° by holding the SHIFT key (a little confusing at first when you are accustomed to the classic dot & click) but these mechanisms are not enough to maintain a flawless attention in a j who will quickly hope that the adventure begins to leave these places. The first quests are also very little interesting: change the water of the swamp, bring a coffee to a NPC, calm another NPC frightened, we come to wonder what is the purpose of this game and where all this will lead us. Fortunately to get out of this first environment, very nice I repeat but too little engaging at the scriptical level, the actions begin to be chained a little faster. However, one should not expect anything other than at a slow pace with the Minims, it is a very calm and serene adventure. You are not entrusted with a great mission, you will not have to fight another villain who aims to destroy the world. No, your ultimate goal is to find your missing beloved. A short poetic journey and endearing in sum. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=680129678 great fans of point & click might not find themselves there because indeed, the game is very simple. The goal is not to propose complex puzzles but rather to transport the player in a poetic world where the head-breaks do not have to be. For proof, the game has a system of clues that can guide you step by step if need be. You will visit a total of three main environments, all pleasing to the eye with their shimmering colors or their unlikely creatures, despite a lack of details that can be attributed to the chosen style and the rather empty places that we quickly made the turn. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=680129934 as a result, the few roundtrips you will have to make will not significantly lengthen the life span, rather ephemeral since you should not spend more than 3h on this title. I must say that I was a little surprised (and not in the right direction) by learning that the developers are primarily musicians. We do not find this passion in the game! Certainly the music is soft and pretty but they are too discreet and even absent from the transition phases of zones! Yet the talent is there, it is just not exploited enough, a peak. To conclude, the first game of beyondthosehills has good ideas especially on the form, this concept of creating a game that can be described as relaxing is interesting. On the other hand the Minims has no will to be rich story from where the sensation of some scriptable vacuum that make it a cute game as possible but totally fordable at the same time. It is necessary to see the game as a short journey that we undertake without pitfalls and not as "the slap of the year" for the kind of point & click. A key has been provided for evaluation purposes by the game side story [www.gamesidestory.com] site on which you will find this assessment soon. Read more reviews on my curation page: Kitsune's Guide
