The Return (Corrade)

Made for Narrative Driven Jam #2. Theme: "unreliable narrator".

Known jankiness:

• Yep, there's no audio.
• There may be a few visual glitches with screen transitions, particularly around the start and "end" of the game.
• There are a couple of bugs with the washing machine. Normally, one would a) load the washing machine, b) go off and do other things while it washes, and then c) check on it once it's done. The bugs are as follows:
  • Step A is skipped if the requirements for step B, interacting with >10 other things, are fulfilled beforehand.
  • Step B may also never complete. This seems to happen when the game is rushed through very quickly. 

I really wanted to animate the paintings. It would've been unique and probably rather pretty if there were background loops (see this oil painting GIF that I'm heavily inspired by) and changes triggered by interactions, for example closing and opening drawers, a moving clock hand, steam from the kettle, etc. Unfortunately I ran out of time.
