About

The Ship: Murder Party is a first-person shooter video game made with Valve Corporation Source engine. The first playable concept of The Ship was released as a modification for well-known and famous video game Half-Life 2.
The year is 1920. The setting is a cruise ship where each player has the mission to secretly murder other player when nobody is watching. Also, despite the killing the player has to be aware of their own hunters.
The story is about a man called Mr. X, who has handed free tickets for players in his cruise ship. Of course, the player's characters don’t know that once they are on the ship they will have to kill other passengers and if a passenger chooses not to do so the Mr. X will kill him or her immediately by feeding him or her to sharks.
The Ship has single-player and multiplayer modes. In single-player, the player gets the role of second class passenger named Charlie Panther who is welcomed by Mr. X talking about his requirements for the passenger which includes killing other people on the ship. In multiplayer mode each player gets a nickname and has the objective to kill certain person on the ship.

The Ship: Murder Party reviews and comments

pretty cool and unique at the time, an Among Us before Among Us.  I don't think it's still available to play, however.

Ok, I'll add my two cents here. This game is old, the graphics are outdated, but there I'm only pointing out the obvious. What's not obvious is that none of that matters. Really. This game is unnerving, exciting, funny, frustrating, utterly frustrating - all while being so deliciously fun all the same. Pros: Interesting, fresh multiplayer experience quite unlike anything else out there. Active community after game is 10 years old. Game dev's still active. (I know, right!?) - They're working on a new, fresh version. TONS of fun. Currently, cheap as F Cons: Due to the old age of the game; Initial figuring out how to join servers is tricky. See community postings. Bots are morons, especially if given half a chance to go swimming. If you end up in the slammer, you're basically dead already as the person hunting you will camp that exit ready to chop an unarmed man down. No protection against respawn killing which is kinda lame. BUT, don't take my word for it. Buy it and see.

"The Ship" is a multiplayer Killer game. Several Passengers are on a Ship with multiple Decks, Shops, Bars, etc. Before the Round, it is necessary to equip yourself. With Clothes maybe and with Food, but especially with a Gun. At the Beginning of the Round, we will be shown the Name of our potential Victim and where it was last spotted. So let off find it and murkse it off. However, we should not be seen by the Staff with a Weapon, otherwise we will be thrown unceremoniously into the on-board cell and are therefore Incapacitated for a short Time. Also, our Sacrifice, when it occurs that we are a hunter, is allowed to kill us with impunity. So to proceed as inconspicuously as possible And always hypothesize Innocence. The Rounds are very short, usually only 90 Seconds. However, our Needs remain, which constantly increase and want to be satisfied. So we have to sleep briefly again and again, what to eat and drink, go on Loo or even read a Book (which takes just a few Seconds). Actually a really good, entertaining Fun concept. You are Constantly busy with something, looking for your Victim, you have to be careful not to be taken by the Killer yourself and by the way you should pay attention to your Needs. Fast and entertaining. The somewhat dusty but nice comic graphic adds to the Atmosphere. The Sounds are nice, too. So An all-round successful Game? In Principle, yes, but with a Huge Problem: It's hardly played anymore. The in-game servers have long since been down anyway, but you can use steam-owned servers via a not too complicated detour. Actually wonderful. But there were a total of four People on the servers on Saturday night. Since the Game creates its Appeal from the Interaction in Multiplayer and the Single Player is no more than a Kind of Tutorial with very stupid Bots, I can now unfortunately not recommend this Game. Except you meet with a larger Group of your own Friends. Rating: 7/10 Atmosphere 6/10 Story 7/10 Graphics 7/10 Sound 7/10 Game Mechanics 7/10 Balancing 4/10 Game Pass (when there were still populated Servers: 7/10) Conclusion: Kurzweier Multiplayer, which unfortunately has too few Players by now. 5/10 Overall Rating
