The Sims 4 reviews and comments
I don’t like this cartoonish style and simplified gameplay.
This installment is clearly not for fans of the classic series. If «The Sims» felt like a good starting point, «The Sims 2» became the gold standard, and «The Sims 3» tried to turn «The Sims» into a fully open world, then «The Sims 4» takes away what longtime players loved.
And that’s neither good nor bad. It’s just that this game is designed for a different audience—children and teenagers of a new generation.
There are no more newspaper deliverers, and a landline phone is unnecessary—after all, everyone has a mobile phone now.
The new facial expression system, where a Sim looks irritated, excited, or just wakes up on the wrong side of the bed, feels like an overacting performer.
Personality traits are no longer as pronounced as in previous installments. As a result, the characters feel the same. In «The Sims 2», for example, one character could fall in love, while another wouldn’t react at all and would just see them as a friend.
What has truly improved is the build mode. Of course, they removed the palette customization (due to lag), which was introduced in «The Sims 3», but thanks to a more flexible editor, it’s now possible to create truly unique interiors and house designs.
That’s how I see this game, but of course, tastes differ.

who doesnt like the sims? the character creator is great, but I hate that they release the same DLC every time. Like you know we want pets and seasons and patio stuff or whatever, just put it in the game. jesus christ, ea.
i played it and enjoyed it because my boyfriend pirate it all the expansions and the games fuck you electronic arts
I want to like this game because I've purchased expensive DLC for it but... I just can't. It's not The Sims 3. Even woo-hooing a vampire in this is kinda lame and you should never EVER have to say that. Slower, more claustrophobic, more streamlined, less to do and see and, for some reason, "full autonomy" means standing still until you pee yourself and collapse.

«Boooring»
I've been a huge fan of the Sims franchise since the beginning, so it's no surprise that I like this one. It has a lot more features than any game in the past and if you want to get into the nitty gritty of any facet of the game, it's easy to do so (I spend a toooon of time customizing characters and houses).
«Time-tested»
