I don't like this cartoonish style and ostracized gameplay.

This part is not made for fans of the classic line. If «The Sims» looked like a good start, «The Sims 2» was the gold standard, and «The Sims 3» was an attempt to make "The Sims 2" at maximum open world, then «The Sims 4» takes away from the old players what they loved.

And that's neither bad nor good. This game is made for a different audience, namely for children and teenagers of the new generation.

There are no newspaper peddlers, no thief will come to you at night trying to steal something, you don't need a landline - you have a cell phone.

The new format of muzzles, when the sim gets up on the wrong foot, irritated or, conversely, delighted, looks like an actor who overplays.

Character traits are no longer as pronounced as in previous parts. As a result, the characters seem to be the same. In the same «The Sims 2» one character could fall in love with the other, and the second will not reciprocate in any way and will consider you just a good friend.

What is undoubtedly better in this part is the construction mode. Of course we decided to customize the palette (because of the lag), which was presented to us in «The Sims 3», but thanks to a more flexible editor can make a really unique interior and house design.

That's how I saw it, but, of course, tastes are not in dispute.

who doesnt like the sims? the character creator is great, but I hate that they release the same DLC every time.  Like you know we want pets and seasons and patio stuff or whatever, just put it in the game.  jesus christ, ea.

I want to like this game because I've purchased expensive DLC for it but... I just can't. It's not The Sims 3. Even woo-hooing a vampire in this is kinda lame and you should never EVER have to say that. Slower, more claustrophobic, more streamlined, less to do and see and, for some reason, "full autonomy" means standing still until you pee yourself and collapse.

I've been a huge fan of the Sims franchise since the beginning, so it's no surprise that I like this one. It has a lot more features than any game in the past and if you want to get into the nitty gritty of any facet of the game, it's easy to do so (I spend a toooon of time customizing characters and houses).
