About

A serial killer is terrorizing the streets of Victorian London, and private investigator Sydney Emerson has hit a new low between finding lost dogs and receiving alleyway beatings. A turn of events sees Sydney forgoing his selfish nature and thrusting himself into perilous and increasingly surreal situations, treading a fine line between dreams and reality.

Explore the foggy streets of Victorian London in all its decadence and depravity, searching the slums, taverns, brothels and even Sydney’s abstract dreamscapes for clues, while meeting a host of interesting, insane and eccentrically British characters along the way.

Features

•A noir adventure laced with adult themes and dark humour.
•A faithful recreation of Victorian London, from decadence to depravity.
•Classic point and click gameplay in the vein of the LucasArts games of yore.
•Explore Sydney’s surreal dream-world for clues.
•Follow the trail of a killer, or drink until you vomit at the pub.
•Original soundtrack blends film noir and traditional Victorian instruments.

The Slaughter: Act One reviews and comments

Translated by
Microsoft from Deutsch
Sherlock Holmes for Arms Late 19th Century. London. Detective Story in Advance: Since it is supposed to be the First Part of a Story, I consider the Game to be Part of a larger Whole. The Slaughter is a small Point-and-click Indi with fine Pixel Graphics. It is strongly reminiscent of Sherlock Holmes plus a Pinch of Inception From The Frame. Sounds like a nice Idea, but is not yet ideally implemented in many Places, the Gameplay tightens a lot in places and the Salt in the Soup somehow still tastes like Pepper. To do this, I personally had Problems with the English Version, which contains an unusually large number Of foreign Words for a Game, so I didn't always understand everything and Google Translator on the right and laptop got on my Nerves in the Long run and wasn't fast enough in the Relationship to the vanishingly fast Text. Still, it was somehow worth it all to me, because The Slaughter delivers a nice creative Story at the same time, fed with funny Dialogues. Small Crime Thriller Not only the Frame, but also the Content reminiscent of Sherlock Holmes; The Game Crimes and Punishments. But as I said, everything kept small and pixel-style. It almost seemed to me in places that I was playing the Game on, with strong Graphics Downgrade, no Joke. If you don't know the slightly more well-known Title, you just listen very carefully. Witness Survey, working with Objects from Crime Scenes, a bit of Reading and in the trusted Home Put the Puzzle Pieces together. Both Games make that up, but I like the accompanying Story in Slaughter more, because in Crimes and Punishments the focus is on the Cases. But Slaughter has it easier, as in many Aspects, because it is only about one Case: Jack the Ripper. When It comes to movement and Scope, it makes no sense to compare, And The Slaughter is significantly more limited. No Speaker Voices and no free Walking. The Atmosphere is clearly tense and uptight. Solving the few Puzzles is Certainly not Art and would quickly be desolate at high Frequency. Luckily, you don't overdo it and thus manage to get 1, 2 Highlight Moments to cover the classic Collecting Tasks. As a small Gimmick and Variety, there's also a small British pub game, which can be Fun if you've drunk Targeted water, otherwise your Head is broken. Recommendation with a few Smears Who likes Pixel, a nice Story or Detective Games, I recommend the Game very carefully. But even only in the Sale, the Price is significantly too high. Everyone else should rather leave their Fingers off it. Towards the End, I was also more happy than sad that it was over.
