The Walk & Talk

You are a novice camera operator on the renowned show "The Oval Office". As the camera operator, you have to make sure you record the actors as they perform their roles. Unfortunately, the show is known for its infamous "Walk and Talk" segments, known for how difficult it is for camera operators to record. Make sure to not include any crew in the shot, and make sure not to bump into anyone!

Made for TV Game Jam 2019. Inspired by The West Wing.

Sorry about performance issues on slower systems, I didn't have time to optimize.

Controls:

• Arrow keys/WASD to move.
• Sprint with SHIFT to move faster.
• Aim your camera with the mouse.
• F to toggle fullscreen.
• P to pause.
• M to mute/unmute.

Gameplay:

• Keep the camera on all people colored blue.
• Keep the camera off of people colored red.
• Include people colored black if you want.
• If a person's red circle fills up, you lose.
• If you run into someone, you lose.

Lessons Learned:

• If you're going to pick a show known for its good writing, don't make a game that requires you to write yourself.
• I am willing to do pretty much anything to procrastinate if the alternative is level design.
• Should've allocated more time to level design so that the levels are enjoyable to play. Sorry.
• Don't expect people to be able to read while they have to pay attention to a different part of the screen.
