They Came on Valentine's

A game made in about a week for the Emoji Game Jam #2

Play as a mermaid named Aqualia on a mission to save her wife, Mia, who has been abducted by a strange alien force made up of mutant cyborgs. Oh, and they abducted thousands of other citizens too but we're more worried about Mia. It's Valentine's Day! Of all the nights an alien invasion could've taken place. A romantic evening was all Aqualia wanted but now she has to blast aliens.

The theme was:

Theme: 🚀🌌🚨 (Starship Space Siren)

When I saw the concept of this jam I was immediately interested and the theme was easy to work with. The influence Starship and Space had on the game is obvious. For Siren, I chose to interpret it as mermaid because I felt that'd be more interesting.
