UFO: Afterlight reviews

I don't actually like negative Reviews, but unfortunately that has to be now. Ufo: Afterlight is the third Installment in a Series after Aftermath and Aftershock. Afterlight doesn't come close to reaching its Predecessors. They were not perfect either, but playable. The Game is not playable on most Screens, there is a Standard Resolution And you can get into the Menu in which you could change that. Well, as a Fan I got into it and found a Solution for it: After you create an Account, you can go into the Path: UFO Afterlight\Profiles\Name and adjust the Options.cfg there. Here you can find: GKEY 12 "resolution _ x" INT 1366 GKEY 12 "resolution _ y" INT 768 the Resolutions-behind INT just enter the Resolutions that bring it. This is how it worked, but the Graphics are underground (which may well be due to this Workaround now). The Surface of Mars doesn't really work well and the first Monsters are Drones that, for all my Love, I can only describe as ugly. The one has limited Staff with certain Skills is quite an interesting Concept. But you must not lose Soldiers and that annoys you hardly get any Replacements. The Game also floods you with sometimes useless Research Possibilities, which leads to the Fact that one loses sight of essential Missions (Story research would have to be marked imho). In addition, you cannot produce certain Researched items if you do not have enough raw Material Levels. This Level of raw Materials is obtained by Colonizing the Regions of Mars. It is huge, the Settlement Is still Fun at the Beginning, but the Game drags on and after hundreds of (partly tiring) external Stakes you are quite sluggish. Even now after Hours over Hours and more than 2/3 of Mars in my Hand, I don't have the necessary Raw Material levels for some Things. The Possibilities of Diplomacy are ridiculous and considerably worse than they were for Aftershock. The Missions, which are super lightweight at the Beginning, can sometimes become mega-heavy Later and there are only a few Killer Strategies such as Mines, Warp weapons, Grenades, Explosives and Retreat battles as well as Loading and Storing around his Team unscathed from the Danger zone too Get. You need that, because the next Mission is already waiting (and there are almost no new Troops). Later there are also opponents who almost can no longer be hit. This has simply been tiresome and not well tested. All in all, no Buy recommendation and I fought my way through really far. I'm probably not going to Finish the Game.
