Vandals
About
Vandals is an infiltration game that will transport you to the most emblematic cities of street art. In this turn-based game, the aim is to sneak around police surveillance and spray walls that grow harder and harder to access.
From Paris to Tokyo, via São Paulo, Berlin and New York, follow in the wake of ultra-famous street artists like Blek Le Rat and Keith Haring.
With Vandals, you can bomb your alias on the walls of New York like Lady Pink, paint childlike characters like Keith Haring, or get inspired by the poems of Miss.Tic and write your own.
After Type:Rider, Vandals is the new project by Cosmografik. It is a video game published and co-produced by ARTE - the European cultural TV and digital channel - and Ex Nihilo.
It is easy to learn, and the puzzles promise hours of immersion and pleasure.

Vandals is a new proof that the Franco-German television channel ARTE has a conception of culture that goes beyond the documentary on the cultivation of chickpeas in Northern Mongolia or the Uzbek author's film in vo. A few years after having already contributed to a first video game on the theme of typography (type: rider, in 2013), here is a game in the universe of street art.
Small puzzle game in stealth mode on the model of Hitman GO and Lara Croft GO (two sets of Square Enix dating from 2016) in which one must move discreetly turn by turn according to predefined plots to create a graffiti on a wall and flee despite the vigilance of the cops.
In each level, you can earn up to three stars depending on whether you succeed in not being spotted, recovering the bonus or ending up in a limited number of moves.
There are various means available to divert the attention of the guards or to sow them as well as to avoid being spotted by the dogs and the cameras but there is in principle only one course that will allow to win the 3 stars.
The neat graphics and discreet sound effects contribute to a friendly atmosphere during the 50 levels distributed in the cities of Paris, New York, Berlin, Sao Paulo and Tokyo.
The map of each city is represented as the map of a metro line and each station where one managed to get the three stars becomes white in order to quickly identify where one can still improve its performance.
Each level is quite short but some are more full-bodied and will require several tests to finish them, or even to get the 3 stars.
The true regulars of the genre may be able to finish the game in less than 3h but it is also very good for a large audience for short game sessions just the time to succeed a few levels.
It should be noted that we can actually achieve in each level the graffiti of his choice by letting express our creativity and that we can also collect here and there cultural information about the evolution of street art.
Really a little puzzle game that is worth the detour at a very decent price. I recommend it.

Product received for free Vandals is a very interesting puzzle game that takes place in the vast world of graffiti over four decades of history. Rich in detail and mechanics, it certainly guarantees several hours of fun.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m21rNwPXgGQ More analysis and criticism here There Is a great prejudice with the "artistic" games or that try to transmit or teach us something in the midst of what should be-for many-pure fun. Vandals is a game developed by Cosmografik, an independent French study, and financed by the National Arts Fund of France; This presupposes a title with a high academic content and information about the history and characters of graffiti as artistic movement. Although this is true, we also find a challenging puzzle game with highly polished mechanics, an excellent soundtrack, and (Best of all) we can even design our own street art.
The game puts us full in the world of illegal graffiti in different cities icon of different eras. We Control a graffiti whose main objective is to "decorate" the walls and escape the police at the same time. We will Have two distraction tools (a whistle and a bottle), a wire cutter clamp, sewers to escape and shrubs to hide. While the dynamics of the action is simple, we will soon discover that there is an upward difficulty that soon gets us into trouble. Although It should be noted that at no time becomes abusive. Perhaps the most fanatical of the puzzles will feel a little disappointed.
As for art, it is obviously the highlight of the game along with its outstanding soundtrack. The Most creative detail is that we can paint our own graffiti, aided by a menu very similar to a paint, simple and effective. Those Who Enjoy this mechanics will probably spend more time painting walls than playing the game itself. We will Also be collecting pages with reviews and events from the history of graffiti, as a context that encompasses the idea of the game.
We Recommend Vandals For many reasons: its great aesthetic sense, originality, difficulty accessible to all, fun and creativity. Of course it is not a game that will go down in history, but that does not prevent it to be worthy of being part of our Lekotek.
