First thing I thought when I saw this was "it looks great", then I thought it couldn't be so good, and the controls would be a pain in the♥♥♥♥♥♥
Oh was I wrong...
In game, everything looks pretty, but is also clear, it doesn't feel too blurry or too detailed, it's colorful, the different enironments are really good, I didn't feel bored at all.
Then there is the playability, and it is very easy to handle, at least to do basic things, but then mastering the teleport etc takes some time. It's rather good i'd say.
I try hard on every level of this game, I like how it's done, I want to see more, be better, go faster etc...
There is a lot of things to do, Daily sprint, story mode (which is rather long for an arcade game, especially if you like to get perfect score on every level...), dual core levels, a good game in the end.
But, it costs a lot.
I would recomend this, really, if you don't care about the money too much, try it out. BUT, if you think the kind of games where doing "try and die" to get the highest score isn't your cup of tea... Meh.
Anyway good experience !

When a game tries to mix genres that are not a priori complementary, I always expect that one of the genres represented take all the part of the cake in terms of quality and the others are completely screwed up or the whole is very average because to want to do well everywhere, the developers are missing.
Velocity 2X is a bit the exception that confirms the rule with its very successful mix of shoot them up and platform action. The whole works very well and the progression in the levels allows to maintain a good balance.
The story is anecdotal and mostly involves browsing levels whose level design is a bit repetitive, but successful. You will have to finish the level quickly, collect collectibles and destroy everything it can be to achieve the perfect score. The end-of-level screen shows the player's progress and the XP won.
At first, finishing the level without wanting to blow the scores is enough to advance in history then comes the moment when the developers had to say that the game was too simple and too short so they increased the bearings to unlock the following levels ( For my part, I found myself stuck at level 42 on 50 by progressing normally). From that moment I weighed because making 3/4 of the game and having to redo the old levels just to move forward is a bit heavy.
To temper this, most of the levels are very short and I just have to refinish some in speedrun mode to unlock enough XP to go to the end (the last level is a bit lame). I also specify that all recovered improvements can be used when redoing the levels (indispensable for some collectibles).
The improvements are unlocked automatically and in a very gradual way.
The game is quite pretty viusally. The music is excellent. The lifespan is low (5H seems pretty credible to a good player) for those who do not want to scorer. The progression is very nice until this little ceiling that forces to start again except to be really gifted. The game is not very difficult, the passage of grind is quite short.
In summary, it is very successful as a mix of genres. The game was clearly thought for scoring and speedrun, which can explain its reduced lifespan.
P.S.: boss fights are pretty successful except for the end.
