Virtual Reality Microscopy Experience
About
Virtual Reality Microscopy Experience is a VR-based educational experience that allows players to experience and interact with some of the aspects of fluorescence microscopy techniques employed by biological research scientists - specifically in the context of studying cells and viruses.
This 20-30 min. experience will allow the players to: a) gain basic understanding why scientists need fluorescence microscopes and understand how they work and b) appreciate the tiny scale of cells and viruses studied by scientists ie. just how small they are in relation to common objects that we recognise.
VRME has originally been designed for use by members of the public with help of a supporting person during science fairs or open days, however it can easily be used autonomously by a person familiar with virtual reality applications. A document providing activity summary and advice for supporting personnel is included with the download.
