A technical exploration for the Global Game Jam 2023 at Parsons for the theme Roots.

Based on a student idea for "hugging your family that's been turned into trees." I didn't get to the hugging part but the idea of faces in the trees was intriguing enough for me to explore it further in this.

I used one of the models from this collection https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-models/plant/other/2021-pbr-chestnut-collection-cast... and modified it to be maskable in Blender. Made a new shader for it in Shader Graph (my enemy) and then coordinated the transitions in Unity.
