Xenoraid: The First Space War
About
Xenoraid is an exciting vertically scrolling shoot'em up rooted in the classic action gameplay of the genre with added modern features.
Xenoraid upgrades the basic shmup gameplay with advanced shooting mechanics. Fighters tilt left and right when moving horizontally and weapons heat up when firing. Master the mechanics and line up devastating bursts of fire!
Missions in Xenoraid a procedurally driven, so nothing needs to be memorized. The enemies act on AI, making the combat fully dynamic. Intercept the alien threat in missions that play out differently every time!
The four fighter squadron represents your lives and your weapon arsenal. Switch between the fighters in the heat of combat to bring in the best weapons for each situation, and to dodge incoming fire!
Xenoraid campaign mode features more than 40 missions with four alien capital vessels in hectic bossfights.
The events take place in a near future setting, where mankind is fighting the first space war against alien raiders. Starfighters have been improvised by adding machine guns, auto cannons, missiles, and more to existing spacecrafts.
Put your skills to the ultimate test in three endless Survival missions with online leaderboards. The Survival mode is a quick burst gameplay mode with runs lasting rarely more than 10-15 minutes.
All game modes can be played in 2-4 player local co-op (Xinput gamepads recommended, max 1 player with keyboard/mouse).

As a big Fan of Galaga and Co., I am delighted to have discovered a fine new Shooter With Xenoraid. The Story tells people's Struggle against an unknown Alien Race. So Far, so unspectacular. Xenoraid shines with the playful Content. In addition to solid Ballercooker foods, it offers procedurally generated attack waves, fleet and pilot management, and the continuous Improvement of its own Relay through unplayed weapon and Ship Upgrades. Graphics, Music and Soundscape know how to convince. Every Shoot em Up fan is advised To take a closer look at Xenoraid-a really good Game!

GAME TYPE: Shoot nous up (1-4 Player) Is it a vertical Shooter? No!
Is it a Twin Stick Shooter? No!
It's Xenoraid: The First Space War-a Space Shooter with idiosyncratic Controls!
Not a vertical Scroller, but an arena shooter. Opponents come from top to bottom like a classic Shmup, but they keep coming until they are destroyed. If you Turn left or right, the Ship spins slightly and our Shots are fired at a slight Angle. Nice Idea, but for Oldskool Veterans very much in Need of getting used to as you will meet less than without this Feature.
Also new is the Idea that you have 4 Ships (instead of Life) that you can equip with the credits you have earned. But also Means that you only ever have Money for a well-equipped Ship, the Rest then remains without great weapon/upgrades.
So If you have lost your best Ship, you have bad Cards.
The Game is reminiscent of a Flashgame with no Highlights. The Coop Mode for up to 4 Players is still the Best! The graphic Effects such as Explosions are nice, but the static Background in the Levels Bores to Death. No Scrolling, no Landscapes or anything like that you fly past. The only thing that moves are the Enemies or Asteroids.
Compared to Shoot's 30 Years ago (Nemesis, R-Type), the Game is a Deception! No Scrolling, no spectacular Upgrades and no Opponent variety! In the old arcade games there was a new Landscape every Level, here there is only a new Wallpaper!
All great!
The Game may not be really bad, but it's also not good enough for a Recommendation from me. It's just Average and there's better Shoot ' em ups on Steam, look into my Reviews to see which ...
PRO: > Control innovative but difficult > up to 4 Players coop (!!!) > entry-friendly Difficulty level > nice Explosions > Ships (Life) can be individually equipped CON: > Control (hey, was this not on the PRO side!?!) > boring Levels (only the Background image changes) > Ships (Life) can be individually equipped, but if you have lost your best Ship it looks bad.
SYNOPSIS: I can recommend the Game only to those who collect Shoot em ups or to look for a new Game to gamble with Friends.
The 4 Player mode is a real Plus here! This Review was helpful please a Thumbs up. Thank you!
