What do I need to know about Magicka before buying it?

The entire Magicka series is on huge 75% sale on Steam now, and I think about buying it. Somehow I missed these games, and now I wonder, do I need to know something special about them? Any features/ issues that can spoil my experince? Maybe, any advices that can help me in the beginning? Please, every recommendation is welcomed!
