Decent little platformer. More of an exploration game than anything else. Movement looks really cool and, hilariously, controlling the humans is terrible. Suffers from not having a map of some sort, getting lost and back-tracking is not fun at all.

Recommendation: It doesn't outstay its welcome, thankfully. How much do you like the genre? Give it a go, or not.

I only played for maybe 40 minutes but it wasn’t doing anything for me. The idea of playing as the monster is cool but the puzzles weren’t fun, the combat wasn’t fun, and worst of all I just kept getting lost. It Wasn’t worth my time.

A good game overall. It's not the best indie game you gonna play, but I recommend it, the storyline is interesting and the gameplay itself is innovative.

Short and sweet. Some downsides stand out - the human controls (especially on ladders) aren't the best, the flashback sequences didn't add anything for me, some of the later robot fight sequences feel a bit out of place, the sequences where you need to downsize are obvious by nature of leaving behind places to do so - but it's a really inventive spin on Metroidvania formula and the style really does carry the game. I've heard complaints about the lack of a minimap, but between the way your traversal paints the environment with blood and general destruction and how well designed the backtracking is designed, it was never an issue for me, and IMO that's how it should be in this type of game.
Awesome concept for a Metroidvania. "Carrion" had a great length, upgrade path, and ramping challenge. Main issue is the map and where to go wasn't very clear and I got lost a bunch.

DD once again shows how they are one of the most innovative and creative game developers out there today. Carrion has a great plot of putting the player in the place of the creature, rather than the human. A creature that you can evolve as the story unfolds, with different play styles and strategies for each stage. I had a lot of fun playing it, the world is well built and the puzzles are well thought out. I had a lot of laughs surrounding the humans by the bathrooms :p
Despite everything, I found the game doesn't say much about what's going on. The flashbacks, for example, left me with more questions than answers, which makes me wonder if we're going to have a sequel soon (and I hope it does). I missed a way to guide myself through the game, several times I didn't know where to go or what to do, although I understand the appeal of games in this genre. Those containment areas seemed useless, many are only accessible in late game, when it no longer makes a difference whether you are more resistent or have bigger energy.
But even with this, I had a lot o fun, great gaming. Really nice and laid out.
