The Adventures of Shuggy review
by Jamesbuc

Cute little platformer where every single level has different gimmicks to it. Some of it has aged a bit thanks to the old XNA engine chugging along but its still worth flicking through to see what odd gimmick is around the corner.

Adventures of Shuggy is a very nice Puzzle Platformer where you have to strap your Head and also show some Skill. It took me just under 6 Hours of Play for the more than 100 Levels and none of these Levels were identical. Some were slightly light even in later Rooms but that didn't bother any further. The Boss fights are nicely done and on the one hand I can give a Buy recommendation for the Game. For 4.99 Euros, this Game Title is definitely worth it. Unfortunately, I couldn't try the Co-Op Mode with a Friend as none had any of that Time or Desire. But I think it also brings a lot of Fun.

☯ What's going: Shuggy has found a new Home. Unfortunately, it contains many dangerous Beings that we now have to scare away individually with Shuggy. There are many different Rooms for this, such as Mini-games! [+] ■ cute Graphics ■ lots of different Puzzles ■ good background music [-] ■ There would have to be something standing here, but I like the Game So much that I wouldn't know what ~ ☯ My Conclusion: Adventures of Shuggy is roughly described a Platformer game, which is still so many more Mini-games Has ready and has several small Comic-like Cutscenes, for example, if you have managed one of the Doors. There are 4 or 5 large Doors in the whole, which also lead to another World. Within these Worlds, there are just about the 20-25 Mini-games. Very entertaining and well designed, in my Opinion!

Unfortunately, I was influenced by the very positive Comments. Yes, surely Adventures of Shuggy is cuddly and cute, the Spaces are getting continual heavier and there are always new Elements that have been built in. However, none of this helps to the Fact that the Soundtrack and the entire Soundscape fall on the Nerves after a few Minutes so much that I only play the Game without Sound. In my Opinion, however, the biggest Shortcoming is the Control. I sat at my Controller as often as I did and have the Control cross on the left and right just to make sure I end up on the Platform. The Controls are so extremely spongy and delayed. She just doesn't feel fluid enough. To top it All off, it's also a 1 Hit-catch the Space from the front to Game. For sure, the Game is not supposed to be baby-light, but 1 Hit and starting over is just too harsh for me. Especially if the Control then also gets so riddled and the Soundscape starts to get around. I really didn't have a Nerve on the Game after 30 Minutes. Maybe this Kind of Platformer Is just not for me, who knows that. Fact is I can't recommend the Game with a clear Conscience. If it's on offer as it is at The moment, you might be able to try it out.
