Skate or Die! review

by ItsAHobby

Ever tried to skate in real life and just ended up bottom up in an asphalt road, disfiguring your face forever and ending up being called flat-face in all of middle school? No? Well neither did I.
I forgot where I was going with that, but that outcome is certainly preferable than playing Skate or Die!
The game's controls are like trying to pilot a plane without going through a course beforehand, and guess what the controls CHANGE for each minigame! What?! You're better off learning how to skate in real life than wasting time trying to learn each minigame, because even when you do it's not good to control.
That aside, the game has a very interesting concept, and as far as I know it's one of the first if not the first skate videogame out there, it's just a shame the controls were handled (heh) like shit.

Overall, rating out of 100:
Story: 0
There's really not a story in here. Nor does it need to have, honestly.

Gameplay: 0
Counter-intuitive. If it was like the race games with directionals functioning like Marble Madness (that is, like most games nowadays) it'd be miles better, and I'd be able to recommend this game.

Graphics: 20
They're reeaaallly nice.

Sound/Music: 0
Ah.

This leaves Skate or Die! with a skating 20 out of 400! I choose die.
