Invisible Apartment Zero review
by Mia Blais-Côté

UPDATE: Now that all the “Invisible Apartments” are available in DLC with the first game, I advise you to buy Invisible Apartment Zero there on Steam. A science-fiction VN, Invisible Apartment’s prequel, also having choices and several bad endings. Having loved the first story of this series, I recommend Invisible Apartment Zero, but on sale, as I bought it at full price and finished it in 34 minutes (o.o). I *do* read fast, but still.

This Game is a prequel to Invisible Apartment, which I did not play, but which, judging by the reviews, repeats the interface and drawing, but is free, as opposed to. The Plot is chaotic, from the text is hung with immaturity and teenage maximalism in the bad meaning of these words. The Main heroine dreams of a better life, about real, bright and beautiful, but she is a schoolgirl who grew up in the miserable slums of the big city, besides the classic Hickey with a problem with socialization. That's Why she hangs on the net for days, where life is real. Supposedly, I can write code, and it will do what I want, and I can change this world, knocking on the keyboard, and all these normal people who are not playing with computers-it's boring, fresh personalities with a fake life. And so on, But then the classic "did not give a crap", conspiracies, corporations and other. The Backs and characters drawn do not know where and what, but evoke the thought of Paint. :) Sometimes something strange happens To the anatomy. And If the text was interesting, the drawing, in principle, does not play a role: This is a novel. The interface is also not all right. First, the block with the text is very light, and the text is white, so it is often difficult to read something. Second, quick save buttons and quick downloads (and any others) do not respond to player actions. So I can't be sure that clicking on the button really saved the game: No button animations, no beep. It Worked or not-yes the dog knows him. Music that is, that is not. But often you want to turn it off: gnashing, a cross between rock and sometimes-ambient. The Latter is not annoying, but the first two, responsible for creating the oppressive atmosphere, spoil everything. At the sale can take, for the full price-not worth it, perhaps. It is Better to play a free basic episode to see if you need to get acquainted further.

Invisible apartment zero is the second Visual story I try. I thought this genre was not too much for me but I liked this cyberpunk universe. Kacey, the girl you play, dreams of fleeing her neighborhood that she hates with her friend Joel. She spends her time hacking public and private cameras to see the lives of others and she envy them. While she decides to stop this illegal activity at the request of her friend and she takes one last time to control a camera she falls on terrifying images of humans kept in capsules. The next day Joel is being put in quarantine by the Government because he would have caught a virus. Did Kacey put her friend's life in danger? Is she in danger herself? And who are these people in the capsules? http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=441579102 the scenario was very interesting and involved conspiracy, experiments on humans, control of the population in a dystopian universe, only here, the game lasts less than 2H. No time to immerse yourself and an end that happens abruptly without anything being settled. Really bad... So yes this game is the prequelle of the free game "invisible apartment" and I may have to start with this one of the shot, does not prevent that the game would have deserved to be more dug and offer a real adventure in its own right. There will sometimes be choices to make, some will have heavy consequences so think about backing up often. The quick save button offers no feedback but it worked every time for me. The sound atmosphere is good. The music reflects the universe and the tension of certain moments. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=441579182 yet another positive point: the drawings are quite well made and do not adopt the manga style too often used in this kind of game, it's good. With all the qualities that the game had at the outset I regret that they were underexploited, the game could have been excellent if it had not been so short and if all our questions would not remain unanswered.
