Depression Quest review

by Mia Blais-Côté

Even forgetting the scandals surrounding the creator of Depression Quest, having already tried it on the web, it's bad. From the tragic piece of music that repeats itself over and over again, to the small black text on a pale grey background that's hard to read and the lack of choice in the story, Depression Quest offers nothing good. It even has a tendency to give depression. Yes, this "game" doesn't explain well (in my opinion) what depression is, nor how to get good help. The first time I read it, it depressed me and it was not a pleasant feeling. If you have severe depression, don't read Depression Quest. If you want to learn more about depression, don't read Depression Quest. If you have time to kill, then here, you can read Depression Quest. Either way, it's free. This story was also made with Twine, for those of you interested.

I really don't know why you should play this Crap. It just pulls you down even more than that somehow helps. Free is still too expensive for the "Game." Leave your Fingers off it unless you want to listen to sad Piano Melodies and complete Stupid situations in the Everyday life of a depressed one. 5 Minutes of Purest Life waste ...

I find that this game allows to present the most recurrent symptoms of depression and how all this can harm the person, it also highlights the fact that some come to understand the lived while others finally did not understand. This misunderstanding shows the attacks and feelings that our character encounters.

A fairly intense narrative game in terms of content. If you are looking for an action game: go your way. You play as a person suffering from severe depression and must live as long as possible by managing your life (job, friends, family, health...) Warning: this game can destabilize and make depressive (this is not a joke), so it is better to be hooked before playing it.

I saw negative reviews on this game and since it is free I told myself that I could test it to see if it is unfairly criticized and the result is... Bah I will not recommend it all the game is boring as possible, we understand nothing, and then that happened one day in a video game Studio to shout guys I have an idea of GENIE... A SIMULATION OF DEPRESSION....... Err Yes but no

Very great "Game." Even if it is not a Game in the conventional Sense, it can convey very well what it means to suffer from Depression. It offers a few realistic Scenarios and Reactions to understand the Whole thing. People who have People with Depression around and want to understand them better should check out the whole time. But one must not go with the "Game" Thought. Very well implemented!

I have to recommend this "Game"! As in many other, negative Comments, I have to say that you can't call it "entertaining." It's an Experience. One takes on the Role of a depressed Person, in a Way that is (unfortunately) often very close to Reality. I think it can help People better understand Depression. Grade this is something that is often difficult if you have not yet had such experiences yourself. I myself have been able to find myself in some situational decisions, and have seen myself from a different Perspective as a result. This helps immensely to process difficult things or to be able to comprehend them for oneself. It is courageous To deal with such a Project. That is why I would like to express my Thanks to all The people involved in the Development. If you don't want to deal with Depression or are looking for a perhaps humorous Interpretation in a Game, you can't do much with that. I can only encourage everyone else to experience this Experience.
