Assassin's Creed Revelations review
Exceptional
by Arteeten

A step back from Brotherhood, but not as bad as others make it out to be. The hookblade was neat.

PROS:
+ "Parkour" missions (but there were very few of them)
+ Solid Altair moments
+ Last two/three sequences of the game

NEUTRAL:
> Ezio lost his expressive character (that could be because of his age tho)
> Combat still focuses too much on counters and one-shotting enemies

CONS:
- Game is filled with useless mechanics (soooo many bombs, but you can easily make do with three, or even one; some weird tower defense minigame, which I had played only once at the beginning of the game; you can buy historic places for way too much money, so I ended up paying for none and it did not even matter; recruiting assassin's also felt pointless in this installment)
- Bugs and crashes, sometime making me do over entire missions
- The most boring location and plot out of all games in the series up to this one (this one is subjective, tho)
- Very few new mechanics (and as I said, most of them pointless)

If it was a standalone game, I think I would not recommend buying it. But as a part of the series, one should know the conclusion of Altair's and Ezio's stories, so buy it at a good discount.
Requiescat in Pace.

A very satisfying ending to an awesome.

The perk of playing as Altair once more, to be able to see how the beloved protagonist spent his days after AC1, was heartwarming.

A true classic!

Most of the story is somewhat forgettable, aside from the absolutely stellar ending to Ezios story. The added mechanics are fun, except for the tower defense minigame.

Revelations is a terrific conclusion to not only one of the greatest video game protagonists, Ezio Auditore da Firenze but also a conclusion for the character from the original title, Altaïr Ibn-LaʼAhad. The final game in the trilogy begins with a wonderful CGI cutscene that transitions into a great first mission set to a beautiful score that really signifies that this is the beginning of the end of the story for both of these characters. Although there are some questionable gameplay additions like the very quickly tiring tower defense strategy mission by the end of the story you are left satisfied with how both Ezio and Altair were handled as well as where the future of the franchise is headed.
«Underrated»
«That ending!»
I don't know, Revelations was probably made just to fill the last story holes so that series could move onward. Story isn't interesting, characters aren't interesting, combat and stealth is exactly the same as in AC2 and AC:B (and therefore not interesting anymore). Only reason to play this game is story and to say farewell to Ezio and Altair.
This game takes many steps forward, but also several steps back for the franchise. Most notably, in the sheer amount of bugs. In my playthrough there, were several missions I had to restart because a bug blocked my progression. The story and gameplay are top notch, and deserving of an exceptional but the amount of bugs really hurts the game.
«Time-tested»
«That ending!»
A good ending to Ezios story, but unmemorable otherwise.
«That ending!»
Setting
It's perfect. I love Istanbul, and can advise everyone to travel there at least once and explore the historical sites and interesting geography. The history that you will confront in the game, is also worth reading. For me, AC series is a way to explore the history, or at least a fantasy of it, and Revelations is ideal for that purpose.

Gameplay
Some things are better than the Brotherhood, some are not. The assassin mission mechanics have gotten more complex, and I am tempted to say more exciting. The new idea of base defense, well, not so much. I found myself doing everything I can to prevent any base attacks. It was my priority, because I didn't want to go through the unpleasant defense process. The street fighting mechanics have not gotten better, it is the same two button mashing as usual.

World Design
It' s good, It works just fine, the historical sites are there, the feeling of grandeur, architecture. It is pleasant to explore.

Storyline
I'd say the final chapter of Ezio's story is much better than Brotherhood. I don't even want to argue about that, there should be no question. It is clearly superior story-telling.

Final verdict
It' s good. Easy to recommend.

Assassin's Creed Revelations is a good Ending for the Ezio Auditore da Firenze Triology. The Story is very exciting and you can learn a lot about "Altaïr Ibn-La 'Ahad" and "Desmond Miles." The Controls, Graphics and soundtrack have again succeeded well, as with their Predecessors. In Addition, "Assassin's Creed Revelations" has some Novelty, such as the Hook blade, which slightly improved the Climbing System and the Combat System. The Fights look even better than with predecessors. Again, there are the Assassins that have been around Since Brotherhood, which can be called out for Support in Combat. There is also a small Mini-name and "Tower defense" there you have to strategically place different Troops (normal Assassins, bracelet shooters, air Attack victims, Barricades, Etc.), so that the Enemy cannot advance to the "Feasts." In "Assassin's Creed Brotherhood" there were already smoke Bombs, in "Assassin's Creed Revelations" you can make a wide variety of bombs, Through Distraction, Camouflage and deadly Bombs, such as splinter or Poison Bombs. What I find a Pity, however, is that there are no Horses in this Assassin's Creed. Plus, there aren't as many Side Missions as there are on "Brotherhood." In My Opinion, "Assassin's Creed Revelations" is one of the best Games, from the Assassin's Creed Franchise. I would give this Game 8.5/10 Points (s) as the Game has succeeded very well.

Assassin's Creed Revelations is the Precondition of Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. Ezio Auditore la Firenze is now considerably older than in the two Predecessors and embarks on a Journey to answer all his Questions, which will ultimately lead him halfway around the World so he Travels to Masyaf of An ancient Assassin Feasts which at the Time of the Crusades of Altair It was led and was an important Order of the Assassins in Syria, but was forgotten with the time. There Ezio encounters a Gigantic Templar Army, but after his capture he manages to escape and he Travels on To Constantinople in today's Istanbul and so begins his last Great Adventure. Assassins Creed Revelations offers some Improvements and Innovations so you can't ride any more now but have a vastly improved recruitment And Purchase System than with its Predecessors, as well as the Possibility to build various Bombs and collect items And for sale. There is again only one real Capital that is divided into several Neighborhoods. However, also a smaller Templar City in the Catacombs that you can visit later In The Game. There are also several new Weapons, Armor and new Upgrades for the Hidden Blade. Of Course, a Lot of beautiful Dungeons and Catacombs. Additionally, a Handful Of new Mission Species. As Well As many more Missions Around Desmond Miles in which you can learn about all the previous Assassins and himself a lot. Here, too, you can take Templar Festen And its Associated City districts, but the Templars are now trying to reclaim them and you have to Defend them. Mann can now train Assassins to be masters and let them run a District. There is also so much new to discover in Revelations that you must have played it yourself. Also the Story is huge again and very Exciting Design you can now find out a lot about the Assassins. Later in the Story, you will be told more about the ancient Culture of that of the Eden Apple tribe And also about its Demise. Ezio also finds a Woman he Marries. The story about Ezio Auditore La Firenze Was originally to be concluded with Revelations, but now 2014 Assassin's Creed Liberation Raus comes in which one plays a female Protagonist for the first time in the History of Assassins Creed and acts here. It is no less than the Student of Ezio Auditore Here you can also learn a lot about Ezio's further Life. For Fans of the Series, Assassins Creed Revelations is a true one must and is definitely worth buying.
