Trials of the Blood Dragon review
by Graham Kaletsky

I think I like this better than Far Cry Blood Dragon.

This is once again a typical Case of: "We take a big Name and do some Shice with it-Main Thing, People buy it!" Trials of the Blood Dragon has nothing to do with Trials-except for Motorcycles you ride MANCHMAL in 2D view. And it is also not the case, as Leech5 writes, that one expects a Trials FUSION clone, but rather that the inclined Trials HD fan so slowly but surely wants something more of the "old" Trials experience again. An Experience that only took a back cut with Fusion. The Game here is neither Fish nor Meat-as a Trials offshoot it works very moderately and what were the unnecessary Tricks with Fusion is here Geballer with the right Stick or the Use of an Enterhook. Overloaded by something like that and various funny Vehicles as well as the Control of the Figures on Foot all seems strongly out of place. By the Way, I would like to mention that the Graphic Style (with 80s orientation) is highly suspected of eye cancer! It May be that it is still a nice, funny Game, but with the Origin of the Series or even a Trial Evolution, this has nothing to do here at all. Be aware of this when you take a thoughtful stand!

"Trials of the Blood Dragon" is not a typical Trial that looms in the (too) many negative Reviews. This is understandable in that Ubisoft did not convey what the game really is in the short Period of "Promotion" (the Game appeared about 30 minutes after the Announcement!!!). The only Hint was the Title, which already minimally indicates with the Pun that it is not a typical Trial, as well as the short Trailer. In this Trailer it was already shown that in addition to the well-known Motorcycle Principle there are also platforming Sequences, as well as other Vehicles. But I can understand the surprise disappointment, but it seems to me that some people have not given the Game a chance at all. This is a real shame, because the Trials of the Blood Dragon offers something very refreshing (at least in the first Hour of play): It offers the arcadic Feel of the previous Trials games and expands it with an even bigger (and also shy) Staging. The Wonderful Thing is that it constantly throws a new Setting or a new Game Idea at the same time and there is always something going on visually and playfully. Of Course, I also have Flaws in the Game, because the Humour is a taste thing and in places just not good, which is partly due to the unmotivated Speakers. Since I have only played an Hour, I will experience further Negative Points if there are really still very disturbing Aspects in the further course of the Game. You just notice how much Love has been put into this whole work with its trashy cartoon Cutscenes (including crazy Commercials). And just that such a Work with such a wondrous publishing Strategy is approved by one of the biggest Publishers deserves Recognition. I hope I was able to convince the People who are still undecided to give the Game a Chance and try something new, as well as make it clear what Trials of the Blood Dragon (in the first Hour) is about.
