Get the Xbox version, it's a much better port than the PC version, this game is meant to be played on a console.

The Game is too old. On my PC, it doesn't work (WIN 8.1). On the first Start, the Menu appeared briefly, then an Error Message, I would like to put down my Graphics settings. Said, Done. So a new Attempt. The Menu appears, I choose the "New Game" option. Then at the top Right on the Screen a Part of black and noise/music is sounded, as if there is an Intro playing, but you don't see it. Shortly thereafter the Game menu appears, I select "Start Game," the same black Rectangle forms and no longer passier.

As The Successor to "Rogue Squadron 3D," this game is a very clear indication of its Age. And yet it is a lot of fun to fly through space, over Planetary surfaces and through Canyons In good old "Wing Commander" fashion, just to beat the evil empire again. The Cutszences to be rewarded between missions also show their ageing Existence. They are quite nicely rendered Scenes by the time, but they are rather uninteresting in terms of content. The Missions themselves are also constantly repeated so that it can get boring here rather quickly. Nevertheless, a Round of "Starfighter" is always very nice in between.

I played this game with Passion back then, when I was also playing his PS2 exclusive Successor "Jedi Starfighter." The Reason for this is the varied Room Battles, wraverful Control and excellent Graphics for those Conditions at the time. All of this was topped off by a very nicely interwoven Backstory. The snappy Radio Crevings and Discussions of the Pilots during the Missions made the Game seem very lively, proving a surprising Kindness with its slightly scattered humour.
The Degree of difficulty is rather in the moderate Range and can also be overcome for the slightly less experienced Hunter pilots after the third attempt at the latest. Only for the Perfectionists, who want to dust off every Gold medal and unlock every little Gimmick, will have to chew on it for a very long time.
Even though this Game is already in its Old age, it is one of the better Star Wars Games in the already oversaturated Market for me. The Game gets 8/10 from me, and only because the Successor has gained a lot of Quality and Fun.
