Gryphon Knight Epic review

Gryphon Knight is a neat concept for a game with some beautiful art. Unfortunately, these things are wasted because of some headspinning design choices - not the least of which is that the game is painfully slow. On a tactile level, Gryphon Knight fails because you immediately get into the game and the first thought that hits you is "Man, I wish this was about 1.5x faster.", until of course you realize that the largely gotcha-based and difficult for all the wrong reasons gameplay, on top of your awkwardly large and unwieldy hitbox, would be even more insufferable than it already is if it were any faster.

There's also the painful lack of enemy variety - something that games in this genre live or die on. Pretty much every level has the same smattering of generic enemies you've seen in every other shmup, aside from the bosses, which range from mildly cool to pretty lame. They also drop megaman style weakness weapons, which for whatever reason, instead of aping how the system works in the series it's inspired by, all share one piddly, tiny little energy bar. You'll legitimately get about three shots of any given weapon before running out. Therefore, it's pretty much a non-option compared to your regular attack.

Personally, I got through the game without using any of the weakness weapons outside of testing them out once, so I couldn't tell you how good or well designed they are. Who knows? Or cares, for that matter, since you're basically not allowed to use them anyway?

There's also the story, where you have the same conversation with all of your friends (except the pirate) over and over again and then die. Maybe I would care if I wasn't so annoyed.

The game has many virtues. It Is an arcade game type "Shump" (of Ships) in which you mount a winged bird that can move in all directions. We Could Cross it from being the typical horizontal scrolling action game, but it would fall into an error as there are certain variants that give it a distinctive touch. I particularly find it somewhat tedious. The Soundtrack is not pleasant to my ear but if you are one of those who like retro games with some air to the Snes, I think this might like you. The collisions are pretty good as well as the animations. What I did not just hook me do not take it into consideration because I come from having played the best Shumps of all time. You Could say it's not bad at all. But I dare not recommend it.

A side scroll shooter, I guess, that's not wasted. It is a small game is true but is well cared, the gameplay is accurate, although at first seems a bit slow to the first you find the right rune is perfect. You Have Several well-defined secondary shots among themselves, and some minions that give you a passive one. There Are a variety of consumables in the form of potions. And a good story!, I expected a history escuza but no, I was surprised with some transfunds that gives personality to the characters, but then never see them again. It Has a weapon enhancement system, very completito everything. I Don't know what else I could ask for. My conclusions, finish dedicandole twice as long as I had planned, a pleasant time, although it is true that in some points could not pass them in normal to the first, with a few subsequent attempts to achieve, however the achievement I do not jump, not if it is because BAL I al boss before the last screens in silver or that but it is the fault Mia, so it is not unfairly difficult, if I wanted to spend in gold could, with some potions that never use in silver.

Gryphon Knight Epic puts us in the shoes of a gentleman who, to save the kingdom from a new evil, embarks on an adventure and seeks the help of old comrades, only to find that each one was under a curse. This will confront them to free them from the evil and thus to defeat the evil interior side of the same looking to resurrect an ancient dragon to destroy everything. Now to my evaluation of it... To begin I will say that I am not so fond of this type of games, but something caught my attention when I saw and I ended up liking, more than the account! The story is nothing of the other world, but it has its well-chosen condiments; Humour, background of the story between the characters, honor and sacrifice. The Music Although it does not stand out has a good accompaniment in the levels, perhaps a little more of hectic in the bosses would have given more intensity to it. The gameplay is super practical, it is not difficult to grasp the hand at all, in addition to disponés a good arsenal of weapons, potions and helpers that if you combine them correctly you can pass the levels in a simple way. Bad Things I do not see, I find quite well achieved the game, beyond that on some issues are not so agree, but anyway I recommend it!
