Sid Meier's Covert Action (Classic) review
by Max Savenkov

I love some aspects of this game. The whole idea of information-gathering is simply unparalleled. And I loved installing wiretaps and deciphering messages. But car chases were awful and infiltration sequences got boring fast, because the game only had a few building layouts.

I wish there was a more polished modern remake of this game, really: it had some good ideas. Too bad Sid Meier supposedly hates it.

Recommended for a small Moment of Nostalgia in any case, but quickly becomes boring. Graphics according to Time Eye Cancer, the Sound you should best deactivate right away is even worse. It may be worth two times for an Hour, but very quickly monotonous due to the repetitive mini-Games. Verdict: Didn't really pay off for me, except for a little Time Travel to my earliest Childhood.

Covert Action is a Game that is guaranteed not to be intended for People expecting the highly Graphics and Sound. First of all, but it scores with Players. For Example, you have 4 Skill points you can award, and not a single one is added in the whole Game. Once you have chosen the one, you will not be able to change it until the End of the Game, and you will be able to take a Skill a maximum of 3 times. The Skills are: Combat: VERY useful who you plan to Enter And the Guards find you (very Often), or you want to arrest The Evil Mastermind (always calls for Help). Driving: To track or to stopen, of Vehicles (sometimes who the others know behind them since Tracks you have been and who you have gestoped on there is a Future Shooting). Cryptology: Close Conclusions of intercepted Messages (if you have successfully enryped a Message, you usually have the involvement in the Case you Are Working on and can book them). Electronics: No No Jetpacks, Death Spouses or submarine cars but just like I tap a Telpfhonanlge, or platzier a GPS tracker on the enemy Car. With every Skill Point you put on Skill, this Action becomes easier (E.g. 3 Skill Points on Combat a Guard shoot along several times until they Trim you). If you don't prove Skill You can use in the high (but there are massively your own Abilities needed). You have a Difficulty on which you play, 2 Weeks maximum Time to Identify the Agents, prevent the Burning and arrest everyone or turn them into Double Agents (don't go to Mastermind). Play your Game on higher Difficulty so you will find less Information that leads to the enemy Agents, and more false Ones, Guards are more accurate and throw Grenades (at the highest Level throw the Almost always first one before adding the space Enter the Alarm). The Game itself is set almost everywhere in the World, from Central to South America, Middle East to Europe (you will see a lot of Capitals). The Game is set in the cold War at the beginning of the 80s (that's why your Held/in also uses a Micro-comb with 36 Frames and no Mobile phone). The only negative thing is that you can't access your Information when you break down, that is, you want to check a Name (on the hacked Computer), or find the Hiding Place of a Terrorist group, you have to remember it or Write it down to Old School on a Piece of Paper.
