Takes everything good about 1 and makes it bad.
Map design is horrible and backtracking is even worse than in the first game.
Gabriel feels like he's made out of paper, enemies throw out 80% unblockable attacks and combat has become absolutely tedious.
Cool setpieces are rare, collectibles aren't hidden but put in front of you in plain sight with gates that say "come back later when you have the power to get here".
I really wanted to like this but it's such a chore to play

This takes everything that made the first game enjoyable like the setpieces, the secrets, the neat levels filled with puzzles and simple but enjoyable combat, the new take on the Castlevania story and makes it bad.
Levels are boring, collectibles aren't hidden anymore, they're locked behind "come back later" gates or just given to you, enemies spam unblockables, Gabriel is made out of paper, the story doesn't make a lick of sense.
They actually managed to ruin the prospect of playing Dracula

In Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, the Story of Gabriel Belmont continues and is, just as in the series part before that, a great Talerment. The Characters are all well written and the English Dubbing Voices very good. Audio-visual, the game still shines in 2019 thanks to the great Soundtrack and some very good Effects. Unfortunately, you have to download a Mod To be able to play the Game in more than 1080p resolution (strangely, there was the possibility in the first Part without Mods ect.) but that went very fast And then runs Butter soft in the desired Resolution. The Combat System has changed little to no change compared to its Predecessor and makes its mood as usual and is difficult to master. Where the first Part still had strongly linear Level structures, Lords of Shadow 2 is significantly more open, offering a considerable Amount of Secrets and Collectibles. From time to time there are Unfortunately Sneak Passages that naturally don't work very well as you would expect and really don't make fun. In most cases they are quickly over and hardly worth talking, but at 1-2 put in the Game this can be easier to get afloat. Luckily, though, they really only make up a small Part of the Game. The Developers apparently wanted to try something new, but unfortunately this doesn't fit either playfully or in the context of the Story to the game or even to the overpowering and immortal Dracula/Gabriel Belmont. Nevertheless, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 is definitely worth a Recommendation just as much as the DLC * Revelations * in which you can play Alucard (known from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night from 1997). But before that, necessarily play the first Part. Apart from that, the Prehistory of Lords of Shadow 2 is urgently needed to understand what is happening and why.

Sun... Now I have played the Game myself and can get a Picture of the whole thing.
Although the Game has a fairly positive Rating, it was the negative ones that made me skeptical of playing the Game. The Points that were felt most often criticized were the Stealth Missions and the End.
First of all, to the Combat System (aka Gameplay); I found this really versatile and fun because there are simply a lot of Combos and Fighting Strategies with which you can beat yourself through the gloomy world of Castlevania, besides, it sometimes doesn't help if you just smash a Button in the Hope that everything breaks ^ ^ The Steal Missions may be a Matter Of taste but I thought it was more of a cool change in The course Of the game than that they would be annoying and annoying as was claimed. (Is just a recurring Type Of Puzzle with different Patterns, but now there were not too many of those;D)
(AB HERE KNOW ES SPOILER GET! If you stop reading here, here is my Review: 10/10:P) The Story of the Predecessor had a rather open Ending and one really wanted to know what is happening to Gabriel and the World; Although this was not directly resolved in this Part (You learn a lot more, but still Gabriel'S Fate is still uncertain) BUT the End has been better solved than I thought. It is an open End, but has it now left no big Questions open where you might have wanted to know more, and it may also be a Reference to a Successor? :)
The Predecessor had Felt more Variety when It came to setting, scientific Installations and New Cities in a world as sinister as in Castlevania may not Be for everyone and perhaps there are a few More Little things to criticize but Let's face it, you can complain about it and all in all it's a very good Game where I just couldn't stop playing ^ ^ Apart from that ... Who doesn't want to fight as a Dracula on the severed Body of a world-destroying beast against his Son's body possessed By Satan? (Wow, the Sentence was:D longer than planned)
And if you have survived this rather long Review, you get an imaginary Biscuit from me: >
