Sea of Stars starts strong with a tutorial that's way too long. The combat starts interesting and you start getting the hang of the sync abilities and whatnot and you can't wait to get more abilities... right? That's the thing, you play with the same abilities throughout almost all game (I played for about 12 hours before giving up in the isles chapter).
The OST is awesome and the pixel art is pretty great, but that's it really. Even the story was very stale.

A visual masterpiece and an instant classic.
PRO:
- visuals and distinct charme
- music
- level design
- companions
- combat system
CONS:
- rushed ending
- mediocre dialogues and story
- boring item farming for "true" ending
- barebones town expansion
Outsanding music, great level design and a decent fighting system are well worth the asking price.
Last third of the game feels rushed and the fate of some characters is barely mentioned or relegted to the "true" ending, which requires boring item grinding.
Pre final boss wave of sidequests thrown at the player to explore the world one more time feels a bit cliché and considering the jokes made on other RPG tropes in the game itself, it sort of backfires a bit.
Support talented indie developers and buy it.
