Daymare 1994: Sandcastle review

[5/10] The worst thing about Daymare 1994 Sandcastle is that it's not actually a bad game. Everything here is pretty average or underdeveloped, but the core gameplay itself is decent. It's clear that the developers didn't want to do a lot of things here - add dodges or melee skills, optimize the game properly, or even improve the character models. All of these annoyances are very painful, but I finished the game with so much pleasure that I might even play Daymare 1998 and see what it's all about. Either way, Daymare 1994 Sandcastle remains a ugly distant cousin of the Resident Evil series that we probably won't be talking about at the Christmas table. It's a shame, because it didn't take much to make this title better.
