First and foremost, it's important to note that this game is not a strategy or simulation game. It's a puzzle. The game may seem difficult in the early chapters of each part, when you don't have a fully opened tech tree. However, in the end, you just need to find the right order and place to build things. Every chapter scripted to the bones, there's no random elements. The maps are designed to prevent you from building necessary buildings too early, so you'll need to wait until you've cleared enough space by collecting resources. This is an artificial difficulty, and after you overcome it, the game doesn't offer much else.
