Fallout 3: Point Lookout review
by Notly

«Point Lookout» takes us back to the roots of «Fallout».

From the very beginning, when you encounter the strange captain on a boat near Washington, you understand that this additional content is dedicated to exploring new territories. The captain honestly states: the swamps are dangerous, but full of mysteries and ancient artifacts. From that moment, «Point Lookout» grabs you and doesn't let go until you've explored every corner of the new land.

The territory is vast. The swamps cover approximately a quarter of the «Capital Wasteland». There's a unique atmosphere here, reminiscent of «S.T.A.L.K.E.R.». There's even an observation wheel, and half of the enemies resemble mutants from «Chernobyl», ready to attack with a double-barreled shotgun at the slightest sign of danger.

The Shotgun is one of the few new items. Besides it, there's a rifle, a not very interesting axe, and a unique brain burner that instantly destroys humanoid heads. But the main thing in Point Lookout is not the items, but the adventures.

In terms of the number of events, Point Lookout is able to surpass the original game. There's definitely plenty to do here. You'll harvest fruit, fend off attacks on an old mansion, find a crashed plane, explore natural gas deposits, and much more.

«Point Lookout» is not just «DLC», it's a full addon. I recommend it.
