This is truly a classic of it's generation. I had so much fun playing it when it was released and enjoyed it even decades later. It has aged well in most aspects but the shooting and aim tracking can be a little unwieldy. Some of the arcade and challenge levels are brutal and feel like you are hitting your head against the wall. Thankfully most of that is cleaned up in the third entry. The story isn't anything special but the level variety is very good. There is also just so much content to be gained by playing the arcade modes to unlock levels, characters and cheats. Add on top of that the in depth but simple map maker and you have a game you can easily sink over 40 hours in.
