Of Ash and Steel nails the feel of a raw medieval RPG: no modern QoL, just pure wandering, survival, and discovery. Exploring Greyshaft, finding secrets, and crafting your first weapons is genuinely satisfying, with a Gothic-like atmosphere that really works. But the long, dragging intro, stiff combat with messy hitboxes, and bugs that can block quests keep it from reaching its full potential. Ambitious and charming in its old-school jank, yet too unpolished to shine. At 23.99 € (-20%), it’s a niche recommendation — purists only.
