GreedFall: The Dying World is mixed. Spiders nails narrative: bold native perspective, deep emotional story, great companions, solid investigations, meaningful choices, mature colonialism/identity themes. Lore-rich prequel adds real value to the series.
But tech drags it down hard. Stiff puppet animations, frozen faces, choppy transitions, monotonous gray-brown visuals — feels years behind modern RPGs. Combat idea good (pause + modes) but slow, low-feedback fights feel meh.
Post-18-month early access: still bugs, typos, long loads, no basic QoL (gear compare). Disappointing polish for 60€.
Worth it for story/companion fans who overlook flaws. Skip or wait heavy sale if visuals/animations matter. Ambitious writing carries it, but technical execution holds it back.
