The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales review
Exceptional
by Rogueh

Frankly, I'm charmed. The Adventures of Elliot is much more than just a "Zelda-like". It's a love letter to classic JRPGs, to Alundra, Terranigma, and Secret of Mana. Team Asano modernises a thirty-year-old formula without betraying its essence: free exploration, ingenious dungeons, snappy combat, and that unique sense of discovery so missing in modern games. The gameplay is richly rewarding – every new weapon, Magilite, or skill changes how you play, and you never tire of experimenting. The story, while classic in structure, is carried by solid writing and characters you genuinely care about. I laughed, I felt fear, I even shed a tear at the end. Visually vibrant with hand-drawn charm, exceptional soundtrack, and satisfying audio design. Minor flaws: a stubborn camera, confusing visual effects, and a few overly cryptic puzzles. But these are easily forgiven. The Adventures of Elliot is a treasure, a return to roots that feels good. A must-have for every JRPG fan. Square Enix, you've signed a masterpiece.
