Super Mario 64 review
Exceptional
by Andrew Mishler

Incredible to think the 3D platforming icon in video gaming was basically the first one made.

Completed as of writing this review: Base Game.

The first 3D platformer named Super Mario 64 is one of the classics that I like to return to for many reasons, mostly because of how charming It is to play from start to middle. The other middle is kind of meh to be honest, as I was always confused about where to go and what to do. Some might say that it's one of the parts for its charm, but I wouldn't say so. Anyway, the music, art design, and gameplay are great and I can see how it inspired a lot of 3D platformers after it. Really solid game, even if a bit outdated for today's standards.

In spite of some clunky and dated aspects like the camera and a few bits of the controls, I still respect and like this game for what it did, and I will continue to enjoy it.

A revolutionary classic, and it's obvious why. While the game may show its age in a few places (aside from the obvious graphics), it still holds up incredibly well today as a standard for sandbox-like 3D platformers.

Yeah this is obviously a classic. I'm not a huge platformer guy but this game is just undeniably fun. As the console industry struggled its way into 3d, Mario 64 established a solid base of 3 dimensional control that feels fluid and responsive. Although something we take for granted now, the importance of this feat in the mid 90's cannot be understated.
«Sit back and relax»
9/10 - It just never gets stale, this game is basically magic. Played it over 10 times and I know I'll  be playing it a lot more.
