Shantae: Half-Genie Hero review
by KawaiiMuaii

I enjoy every Shantae game and this one is probably the best. The gameplay is pure perfection – simple and effective. Overall, this is one the greatest platformers and, by and large, games for Wii U.

The real Shantae HD experience! Although less Metroidvania, more Action-Platformer, this game is still a blast to play. It can be good for first-timers and also just Shantae fans in general!

Since the Ultimate Edition is available now, I'd suggest to pick it instead of this Vanilla version. Less cost, more features. Though I'm still a little pissed that WayForward has done nothing for people, who bought the game with all DLCs (myself included) before Ultimate Edition was out, since it also has backers features (it's just costumes, but still).

Anyway, this is a fun, usual Shantae game. Definitely buy it! (the Ultimate Edition I mean)

I never dealt with the Series any further and after a short Time playing I notice this, which was unfortunately a Mistake. After allude, I definitely set out to pick up the other Parts. The Humour is great. The Gameplay is just off your Fingertips. The Character design is nice to look at. The Story is funny brought across and some More points that I don't want to think of now. https://youtu.be/rAJptJPH4SQ

A great Game that impresses both visually and playfully. The hand-drawn Animations and Soundtrack are simply delightful. While it is markedly different from its Predecessors, in which one explores a large Free-to-walk world, nevertheless the individual Levels have all succeeded well. The Whole thing is only loosened up by the humour typical of the Series. I had my Joy with the Game until the End and can warmly recommend it.

Personally i am very disappointed with the game, i played it just after release, and i was welcomed by grafical glitches like crazy. The sound track is pretty good especially the more dramatic music pieces. But sadly the game doesn't get me, i finished it within 5 hours, 88% cleared. 27 archivments collected... and i won't further play it, or buy any DLC... i actually wish my money back. The game is way to short, lags the fun of the last games, adds♥♥♥♥♥♥liek donkey kong minecart slides and flappy bird levels. Many npc's have wrong translated info texts leading you on wrong tracks...

I'm a big Fan of the Shantae Franchise and have played every one of those Games. Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is the fourth Part of the ebends called Shantae Series and I really Enjoyed it. While The Gameplay doesn't set new Standards, it's damn good. It goes well by hand and is Fun. Platforming Is excellent. Just how Shantae holds on to Harken is somewhat fiddly. The Story is slightly different this time than in the previous Parts. Here a Series of Mini Episodes are told, which are held together only by a scarcely to Non-existent thread. Similar to the Storytelling from the Anime "Devil May Cry." Each Episode is a Stage that you can gradually unlock and revisit after Completing to find the rest of The Secrets, provided you have the right skills to do so. When it came to the Look, I was a bit sceptical at first. I'm generally not a big Fan of Chibi (small Body, big Head), but in the finished Game it looks much better than expected. I mags. The Music, unfortunately, was a bit misled by me. Don't Get me wrong. She's really good, just unfortunately not quite as good as it was in the previous Title. On the Whole, apart from a few Quirks here and there, the Game is really good and definitely recommended. If you are looking for a simple, good and fun Platformer, this Game is absolutely not a bad choice for you.
