Fear Effect Sedna review
Meh
by KawaiiMuaii

I bought it because I was thinking this was some sort of a puzzler. It actually challenges not your mind, but your reflexes. Unless you are a quick teenager, this game will be an arcade hell for you. This game made me feel old.

Fear Effect Sedna is especially in the numerous Wonderful Cutscenes, the Successor many have wanted. The Relationships within the Group come about understandably, especially if you have played the PSOne Originals even if a bit of Plot is missing, as Sedna Plays according to the never released Fear Effect Inferno. In Terms of Gameplay, you get more or less challenging Puzzles (even with Reference to the Player'S Powers of observation in the Level), which often result in a gruesome death And the Game Over when not mastered, which is typical of the Fear Effect series. The Shootings with the rudimentary Cover system are solved suboptimally but not too much of An obstacle, as the opponent AI is rather moderate and you have plenty of Medipacks!! (Be sure to always search dead Enemies). Sneak usually only works well in designated Places and the Tactics mode (the Event stops) is nice to set Guidelines for each individual Team member, but for the most part it is not useful. Overall, I have to say that the Top View of the Playing Area for old Fear Effect bunnies takes getting used to and yet is quickly accepted by the Head, also it is nice that the Stress Level Has found its Way into the Game, with whose Rash in the higher Regions one While doing more Damage, the Attacks on Enemies lose target accuracy. The Project is a little unround, but Presentation, Puzzles and History tear out a lot. In any case, I wish the Developer a good Knack for the Remake of the first Fear Effect And who knows, maybe we will still see Fear Effect Inferno in the Future. Verdict: 7.6/10

I really wanted to give a Thumbs up here, although I found the Gameplay weak from the Start. I wanted to write a Review for Fear Effect 1 and 2 fans. But I can't give the Thumbs up. The Music is great, already in the Main Menu. The Characters are as you know them and that triggers a whole Lot of Nostalgia. The Cutscenes are pretty to look at, well written, quite well animated. The Puzzles are good (even if not really demanding) and varied. All great, all in familiar Fear Effect fashion. But the Gameplay. The Sneaking, and especially the Shooting, is just not Fun at all. There is virtually no AI. Their own Group gets stuck on every second Edge, Enemies see a Corpse, but then only stare at it and don't even look around the Room. Commands that you give to your own Group are poorly executed, so only the Character you actively control really does something. The first Boss Fight is with one Time an extreme Suit in the Difficulty curve and when you die you also unfortunately don't get your Inventory (with accumulated Medication) back, but gets a standard inventory. And at least once you're guaranteed to die there, because the Opponent is fast, and his Range is not to be estimated at all. Even if you feel like you're way out of his Reach: If the Animation starts, he'll hit unless you dodged fast enough. This is quite feasible, but the whole Boss fight actually consists only of Dodging and running in Circles and so unfortunately not very much Fun. A few more annoying Points yet. The Game spoils you in the Main Menu, I think. So Fingers away from the "Bonus" menu. You can unlock a few Artworks where you can find some Collectibles and there you get to see Pictures from later Levels very quickly, which really take the Surprise away from you. Bugs are enough, especially with the Puzzles, so I had to re-enter here and there and re-enter the same Solution and there are not even sound Options out of the Game-always you have to go back to the Skin menu. I now look at the Rest of the Cutscenes on YouTube. They are always worth it. But unfortunately after Such a short time I have more than enough Of playing myself. For a short, nice nostalgia trip, however, it was enough. Also back are a few cool Game over screens and also the Attempt to make the Gameplay a bit varied. Unfortunately, varied is not automatically good. For big Fear Effect fans, you might still be able to recommend the Game-for the Story. For little Fear Effect fans and everyone else doesn't.

The atmosphere, the music, the puzzles, the characters are extremely good. My only gripes are a bit messy combat system and halfhearted voice-acting. Still, the original vibes from PSX Fear Effect games are here, and this is the most important thing to me. If you are a fan of old games and not spoiled by AAA Hollywood-budget games, then you really should try this one. Support the developers, and they will make more games in this universe!
