Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak review
Exceptional

Even better than Starcraft for me. Every piece of this game is done perfectly, with great love, patience and attention to the details. An excellent strategy with gorgeous visuals, exciting gameplay and dialogues. The campaign mode is amazing, no other words here. So, if you’re looking for another great RTS, pick Homeworld, you won’t be disappointed.

Despite the fact that this game was refitted to be a prequel to Homeworld long after it started development, it came out pretty well. The vast, humbling space settings of previous titles in the series are replaced by well-realized, but largely dull, deserts which fail to inspire the same feelings.

Before I rate the Game, I would like to say that I have known And played Homeworld since the first Release of more than 10 Years ago. I was skeptical, of course, when the Homeworld Remastered Edition came out ... And I was surprised. Gearbox did a good Job. Now Gearbox has released a new Homeworld Offshoot and this one plays the Prehistory of The Hiigarans. To put it briefly: A successful homeworld successor. The Graphics are pretty, the Controls as you know it from Homeworld, the sensor mode (a Homeworld feature) very nicely implemented and The Units, sounds and Animations look great. Conclusion: A very successful RTS title. Clear Buy recommendation!

A Strategy game I've been waiting a little Longer for. And so far, I haven't been disappointed. Once Again, it goes "against all odds" a lone Driving Aircraft carrier that serves as your Base slowly crawling through the Desert. The Story is told in wudnerable Artistically Designed animation Intersequences. (The Pictures are very important to HW 1 & HW 2) but are better again. The Kampange is fun until now and is exciting. In some Places I got annoyed, but there is always. Even though the Units you Can build and control can be overseen, I am still positively influenced by the Possibilities. Because HW DoK works with a Bitter Evil Scissors, Stone, Paper mechanism. For example, Railguns are effectively impossible to top, but very quickly lose the close fight against LAV's. In general, I can recommend this Game if you are a HW friend, want to play a (from a meistear-point) challenging Strategy game for a long time.

I've only played the Sin-player so far. But what has been offered is unfortunately far too few in Strategy games! The Story, the Atmosphere are terrific and are in no way inferior to the "original" Homeworld Titles. The Maps are also great designed and you have to bear in mind that everything is set in a big Desert. It just looks great when the Units drive/fly over the Dunes. Unfortunately, I can't say anything about the MP, as I only bought the Game anyway because of the SP and the Predecessors. Apparently, though, the MP is not supposed to be as good as the SP. However, The Developer should work on it. But If someone wants An SP Strategy game with great Story and Atmosphere that immediately captivates you, then you should access here. For the pure Campaign you bring about 8-10 hours on the average Difficulty level. The Level Of difficulty is basically balanced, although with 1-2 Missions I found it a little too light. But this can be adjusted from Mission to Mission. I'm spanned into what else to come from the Developer in the Future. Clear Buy recommendation! (Singleplayer)
Actually, this game is mediocre. Yes, it looks good and the atmosphere is just the way it needs to be, but the gameplay is bad, sorry. It’s bland and imbalanced. The pathfinding is atrocious sometimes. And you always feel deluded because of your enemy’s endless resources (maybe, they are not, but it feels so) while you have only a limited amount of them. So, maybe, it’s not the worst RTS in the world but it makes several serious mistakes.
