Rate top gamesI feel the lack of a story. Someone says this game doesn't need it but I prefer at least something to be told. Here you appear in the desert and no one tries to explain you what’s happening. The gameplay is fun, though, but without any narrative quests make no sense. The game seems to be a demo version of something bigger and better, but like a standalone title it’s not worth to buy.

RAGE [2011 | Bethesda/Id software] ★ 82/100 ★ RAGE I had once seen in the ComputerBild Games as Recommendation Of the Month towards the End of 2011. Having also read through the accompanying Test, I was absolutely fascinated by the Game and wanted it straight. But as was the case back in 2011, I didn't have the necessary €60s, a PS3, Xbox 360 or a PC.
2 Years Later I started with PC gaming and discovered the Steam Winter Sale for me. And what do I find in the "Games for €5" Offers? RAGE. ZACK bought and played. Played until all the main and Minor Tasks were completed. Yes, my 2013 winter Holidays consisted largely of RAGE & Skyrim. Now, however, the Impression that it only took me 21 Hours for Everything is not to arise. Because most Of the time I played RAGE, I didn't have an Internet Connection and accordingly the Game time wasn't counted. So It took me summa sumarum 50-55 Hours to play RAGE at the medium Difficulty Level.
You end up as an unnamed Hero in the so-called Wasteland. A post-apocalyptic World of how couldn't have been better stolen from Fallout. A Desert full of strange and alien creatures that live quite primitive Yet very modern after the Meteorite Impact a few Years ago. The entire Setting is noticeably influenced by Fallout, Mad Max and Co. But RAGE knows how to skillfully implement this Game world. No Wonder, after all, this Game comes from the First-person Shooter Pioneers I software. Certainly the Story hasn't really stuck in the memory and really striking Characters don't exist either, but the Gameplay consisting of First-person shooter, roller & Racing Game perfectly unites its genres with each other.
Graphically, RAGE isn't really handsome thanks to the Id-Tech 5 Engine. This is due, on the one hand, to the reloading textures that occur due To immature programming of the so-called "Mega-Textures," as well as the comparatively low Resolution of Background Textures. This means that Items, Weapons and NPCs look much better than, Say, a Table, floor or Wall. The named "Foreground Textures" stand out from the Background Textures with strong Contrast. And that looks very skurill in part.
But if you can get over it on the Gameplay, with RAGE finds a terrific Single-player shooter. Precisely because there are really few good and significant Single-player shooters, I clearly recommend RAGE and recommend it to anyone who, like me, once struggles with his Bamboo line, but still wants to play a Shooter.
