Battlestar Galactica Deadlock review
by Curious_Cat

Five Word Review: Fun though repetitive, skimpy story.
Favorite Thing: I enjoyed the turn-based strategy (initially) and unlocking new ships.
Least Favorite Thing: It gets repetitive fast. There's nothing overly exciting to keep your interest.

Date Completed: 2018-05-20
Playtime: 26h
Enjoyment: 7/10
Recommendation: It's a pretty decent strategy game. More so if you like space and/or BSG.

Such a Game from the BSG film and Series series has been a long wait for an eternal. In Advance, it has to be said that for its 2.1 to 2.5 GB it is a very good game, which has been kept simple and clear from the Menus (Punitive Card as well as in the Fights). Despite the Simplicity, it is quite challenging in terms of Space fights and Missions, because you fight on a real 3D map. So you have to pay attention to some Things: A) you have to position your Big Fight Ships correctly per Round every Round, because one has lateral guns, the other has front and Rear guns, etc. b) You have to adjust and factor in the Height of your Large-scale Combat ships every round, because this is also very important in The event of attacks on enemy large-scale combat Ships as well as facilities etc. One also wants to hit the Weak Points and not run on them where the thickest Armor is c) the Ships have different Adjustment Modes, which are Used depending on the Situation (from the highest defense To the highest Attack mode). But at the Beginning and far Away, the most Important thing from these Modes of the Additional Boost is. D) the mobile Shipyard must always be protected, so do not throw all Ships at the visible Enemy, but always keep something in the back Of the Hand. However, the most beautiful thing is that you only have 2 Resources that you can manage and use for everything. The Resource provider should always be kept Happy, for example by building Defense Fleets and having them stationed in the System. For example, The Player fights with 2 researched carrier Cruisers (the smallest Carriers available) against a normal Carrier ship of the Zylons. This is Accompanied by 4 Cylonine Corvettes and has 1 To 2 fighter Squadrons on Board. Both see themselves on the 3D map in the Radar (Dradis) as unknown Units and fly towards each other. So far so good, but with Visual Contact it turns out that the Players are too high positioned. One flies accordingly further towards the Enemy and in the process also corrules the Altitude, so that the Guns can fully come into Their own. Because the Big Combat Ships have Armor everywhere and you want to catch the Weakest Points of these. At this Point, the Turbo is switched off and regulated to full Breath. All Viper Squads are also in Use to give the Opponent acid. You fight your Way with the Guns, Steering Traps, etc. until the Enemy is destroyed and/or the Mission Goals are achieved (depending on what the Mission is). However, I don't need to mention what the Zylons have as an advantage, because anyone who has seen the New Edition of BSG knows what is meant. This increases the diversity of Missions on the one Hand, and the Thrill on the Other. After all, who has ever had a large-scale Combat Ship without the Shell being damaged? However, People also have appropriate Countermeasures for This, but this in turn reduces something else. You can choose this before The Mission begins and you should think carefully about what modifiable Armament you want to use. A Mix is here (so I did the Experience best). After playing the first 3 to 4 Missions, the Shoot is quickly out, because these Storymissioners of the Kampanie are also the tutorial missions. These include the Course of Fights and the Explanations of The Strategy map, Construction of Units, replacement of variable Weapons etcpp. Another Advantage is that the Game is in German (at least the Subtitles, Texts as well as surface) in German. The English Voiceover adds to the Atmosphere and gives the Game exactly the Mix it needs. Experienced Strategy Players can start right on the medium Difficulty To get a Feel. I, too, started with it and I'm thrilled. Absolute Buy recommendation! Whoever likes Sci-fi games and especially the BSG universe just has to have it.
