Legacy of Kain: Defiance review
Exceptional
by Juri

This game is just like the series should have ended. The story and the combat system are perfect and enjoyable, and here we can finally play both for Kain and Raziel. This twist gives a chance to dive deeper into the story and understand all the motives of the characters. However, Kain is still my favorite. I also like the puzzle aspect of the game that stayed hard enough to entertain me. This title shows what is a true vampire game!

Class Game with fascinating Story, only the automatic Camera often causes problems. The Puzzles are slightly easy, but they do not inhibit the Flow of the Game! Nice Combat System, though a bit confusing at first ...

Not playable without PS2 Controllers. When it comes to precisely jumping from one Platform to another, you need a Joystick. Due to the Camera Guidance, you can easily spend half an Hour with the 4 Directional Buttons to get to the End of the Fortress.

Exciting Game with ingenious Story. Unbelievable surprising Twist. So proper wtf Moments where my Jaws hung under the Table. As an Anti-gamer, I even think the game is so good that it is one of my few Favorite games. Gameplay naja alter but quite ok, even if it should get boring quickly, it won't. The Syncro is ime English Mega horny. The Characters are properly believable, realistic and soulful.

Legacy of Cain: Defiance is the 5th and final Installment in the Legacy of Cain series, which was released in 2003. For such an old Game, it is Still beautiful to look at today. The only negative Aspect is the Control. You can clearly see that the Game was intended for the console and the Camera, for mouse and Keyboard is not adapted. There's not much new to say about the story. Except that after 5 Parts, the Story finally finds a Conclusion. The, it first seems, ends with a final Battle, between Cain And Raziel. However, after the Fight it turns out who the real Danger is. And to find out, it takes a good 12 Hours of Play. The Story ties in with Soul Reaver 2, as well as Blood Omen 2. This is because this time we have the Special Feature of being able to play both Main Characters. For one thing, we have Cain, a Vampier like him, who has wanted to rule Nosgoth as a grisly Dictator For Centuries. (Must be today's Korea). And on the other hand, we would have Raziel. He is searching for the Meaning of his Rebirth as an Undead and what role his free Will plays in it. Raziel is not interested in Blood, instead devouring the Souls of his Adversaries. Verdict: The Epic Series finds its unexpected Conclusion. Where the Connections can be better understood if you have really played all the other Parts as well. For this Part, 12 Hours of Play is also quite ok. Graphically, it is also very good to look at for the present Time. The Controller gets a thick Minus as it is completely consoles heavy. All in one, again a successful Part of the Series, which thus represents a must have for Fans. For Newcomers who don't know the Series, I recommend the Predecessors to Games first.

Defiance has too many annoying moments for me to name it a good game in the series. Poor level design with invisible walls and enemies spawning from nowhere, surprisingly lost abilities from the previous parts, unresponsive controls and the camera that always shows you everything except what you need. So if we compare this one to Soul Reaver, we’ll be disappointed. So, well, play it if you want to finish the story, but I guess, it won’t be enjoyable at all.
