Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne review
Exceptional
by Valtelė

This has the best love story I have ever seen in video game. It's poetic as Alan Wake and brutal as The Punisher. The saddest superhero from Remedy. One of the kind.

The sequel, that showed how the developers did their homework. Max Payne 2 is the best Max Payne yet with an interesting action-packed drama plot. It also has some funny moments and an a diverse cast of characters. It also is not ridiculously challenging with damage from grenades and bullets anymore.
Though it's recommended to play only after you played the first game, but it's your choice anyway, since this game has a recap. But to really understand Max's pain (no pun intended), I'd suggest beat the first game first.

Let's not fool ourselves. The gameplay in Max Payne 2 is interesting but dwarfed by modern games. The story is pretty cliche, but... BUT the way it is presented, the narrative, the sarcastic remarks of Max's and the ending.... oh, the ending... these are what make this game one of a kind and an absolute must-play in 2020.
