The Evil Within review
by Valtelė

This is what I call THE COMEBACK OF GENRE. Survival-horror at its finest. It's a journey that I cannot forget and always want to re-play and re-live. Re-commended! The only one issue with this game is that it's too long and in the second half things like enemies and bosses starts to repeat itself and there is too much of everything eventually....

Fun survival horror, for those who like a challenge. The gameplay was fun, with an engaging combat/stealth system. The story drags on a little long, especially towards the end, but it was a unique horror experience that I'll remember fondly.
«Underrated»
One of my favourite horror series.

This game feels depressing. Sebastian, the main character isn't compelling and the story feels like a drag. Although the fight system is nice. Also the bosses are a good challenge!

Grade: C-
A solid survival horror game. The story was interesting and kept me guessing. The enemies were creative and fun to fight. The gunplay is reasonable. The upgrades are reasonable. Nothing jumps out as exceptional but it was a solid experience throughout.

Final Score: A-

Review The Evil Within Wow, that was really Fun! There is no special Unique selling Point in The Evil Within (TEW) now, everything has been seen somehow and somewhere before, but in my Opinion the same is well put together that I have really devoured the Game. However, One should not have a Problem with a Story that presents itself (probably intentionally) very confused and confused. It is a lot of things that are enlightened, but not everything is not all for a long time! It is definitely Fun for me To think about many Things in the Game and draw your own Conclusions from them. However, some Players may describe the Story as too exhausting and confused. In Gameplay, TEW is very reminiscent of Games like Resident Evil 4 (behind both Games is Shinji Mikami as a Developer). It belongs to the Genre of survival horror games, with survival saves clearly in the Foreground with little Ammunition and careful Action. The Game is very brutal and bloody, but there are real Moments of shock very rare (until not at all-after all, one's own Feeling comes down). If you have what's left for the Genre, YOU should definitely check out TEW! Furthermore, I can only recommend the Season Pass to everyone! It consists of three DLCs The Assignment, The Consequence and The Executioner. The first two DLCs are a coherent Story that expands the Story of the Main Game from the Point of view of another (known from the Main Game) Protagonist. The Genius of it: The DLCs play completely differently from the Main Game, it is no longer "of the Same" (as is often the case with DLCs). You are, to a large Extent, more or less completely unarmed on the Road and then (in Contrast to the Main Program) real Horror comes up when you crawl through the Corridors with sweat-wet Hands ...:) This also means, of course, that "Action Fans" probably don't get so happy with the DLCs, as the Focus is on bypassing enemies. The third DLC THEN drops off a bit. It offers a maximum Of a rudimentary Story, you switch here to the "bad side" and can (to put it flat) break with a lot of Blood everything that gets in The Way of you (primarily in Melee combat). :) This is actually nothing Special, but after the many Creeping in the first Two DLCs a successful and entertaining change (but also really short, because after about 90 Minutes you are there). Technically, TEW makes an ambivalent Impression on many Players-which is probably primarily due to the Engine (id Tech 5). This was Used for The first time at Rage and was already very controversial at the time. Personally, I really liked her in Rage, the Panoramas of the Megatextur (on which the Engine is based) were absolutely awesome. Only you had to look past The Weaknesses in the Close-range. And with Rage, the Pixel Porridge was quite bad, if you went very close to something. In My Opinion, however, this has improved significantly in all Games with the id Tech 5 and I think the Graphics of TEW are very nice. Of course, there is more technically in it by now, but it is important to me that the overall Impression that the Graphics bring across (not just the technical Aspect). So If you can't suffer the id Tech 5, you should probably deduct two points in my Graphics rating. In Terms of Sound and Choice of speakers, HOWEVER, TEW does everything right. In Principle, I had no technical Problems and was able to play with maximum Details (Core i7-2600k @ 4.5 GHz, 12 GB RAM, Geforce GTX 970 SLI). Unfortunately, the 4K DSR doesn't work for me in this Game-unlike all the other Games, my Screen at TEW only shows a Snippet of the Game. For this Reason, I played with the normal HD resolution (1080p) My Rating: Graphic: 8/10 Sound: 10/10 Circumference: 9/10 Atmosphere: 10/10 Gameplay: 91%
