The First Templar review
by MorgenS

It's one of those games with pretty low visual even for it's time, quirky mechanics and very simple storytelling with primitive cut-scenes. And the main way of getting harder in this game is just throwing more an more enemies on you, no matter how ridiculous that looks.
But it has it's unique atmosphere. And in it you see not the game as it is, but a distant picture of how it could be. Or should be.
Besides there are not so many games about templars and crusades, especially without supernatural forces.

I bought the Game in a Bundle and am very happy with the Decision. The Plot tells the Story of the Knights Templar as it could have been. Highly hypothetical though, but quite interesting. The Game world is clearly set and you only ever have one right way to go. All other Avenues are blocked. However, this has the Advantage of sparing yourself a great deal of Racing, unlike other Games;) I feel positive about the many possible Achievements, the many "Bonus goals" (small Side Missions) and the Challenges, for example, to get through a hostile Camp completely without triggering an alarm (and yet, if Possible, to eradicate all Enemies). Apart from a small Glitch, where my Partner disappeared into the Rock with Opponents (but came out again), I did not discover any Bugs that could cloud the Fun of the Game. All Round: Recommended!

The First Templar has an interesting Story, after Searching for the Holy Grail. The Controls are lightweight, both with Keyboard and Controller. Graphically good, but with weakening at the Camera. Some Finishers like to disappear behind a Wall, Fence or the like. There does not flow a lot of Blood and Body Parts are not separated either. Which is actually a shame, the one Head should not sit like Cement on the Neck, whiting a Sword from the Side. A Little more Blood is likely to splash, which is due to save flame. The German Syncro is good with the Characters played, only with the others it lags in part. The Best Example would be there, an outwardly 70-Year-old, sounds like 20. Not perfect but it doesn't hurt the Story. You feel like a Crusader, the Equipment can be changed in the running of the Game and you also look quite good at it. The Skills are well balanced and you hardly have the Feeling that you are too strong or weak. Which reinforces the whole "I'm a Crusader" feeling. The Positive thing is that all Character is always on the same Level. If you Meet A again, A is just as far from the Experience points as Our Main character who travelled with B. A fat minus Has the Game though. Facebook! Yes, some hate it, others love it. But honestly; Dear Developers, Facebook does not belong in any Game. The shit defines the Selection Of The players in the Multiplayer and once chosen does not allow a change in this Savegame. 1. Anyone may enter 2. Only Friends are allowed to enter 3. No One is allowed to enter. Well, in any other Game, 2nd would be simply regulated and finished by Steam. Not so here, here goes to the Facebook Friends List. Small Hint, at 3. it can be played in the Split-screen. The DRM Protection is also a Major SHORTCOMING. An Account is required and a Lucrate is opened to Log in at each start. If you're Offline, this Launcher will simply be skipped. Unfortunately, deleting the dll file Does nothing. The Launcher is like an Extra Advertising Space for other Products, which is very cheeky. All in all a good Game, it's worth it who it's on Offer.
